Fair deal with VAncouver

I want Larsson extended next season for around $3.5M/4y. He'd be a phenomenal partner for whoever Edmonton replaces Jones with (like Samorukov). I'm not interested in a middle-six winger and helping out the Leafs if I don't need to.

Tyler Johnson is a top end skater, pretty good passer, good hands and a good shot so if this trade went down you would get a lot more value out of him playing him with McDavid in my opinion.

As for the trade I don't know what the Lightning would do with Benning as I think he would cost too much so I would be fine with Jesse and the draft pick to be honest since Edmonton is taking on all of Johnson's cap hit. Would Johnson waive to play with McDavid... that I think would be an incentive to go there.

Sabres easily pass. They are taking on a larger cap dump than Hutton and giving up a pick for that privilege. No thanks. Why wouldn't the Sabres just trade Hutton for Rowney straight up.

And about on pace for 18 goals/ 40 pts... scoring on the 2nd PP unit is a bonus.

He won't get PP time in Edmonton and Holland just traded for Athanasiou. We're not interested in Johnsson.
