McDonagh Killorn but please read description

Description

Not sure if this has been thrown around and not sure if Lightning fans are open to it, but what would it take/what is the value tampa is looking for to dump McDonagh/Killorn?

I say this because instead of losing one/two of their RFAs to offersheets, they can maybe trade McDonagh/Killorn and get a 1st round pick back. They have Cal Foote coming up, they could sign sergachev , Cirelli, and Cernak, and still have a competitive blueline. Would a 1st do it for them (McDonaugh or Killorn)? I know Killorn or Gourde would probably be on the move first, but curious what you guys think.

And devils fans, is this something we should be shooting for? Is a 1st too much/not enough? What's the gauge on bringing a guy like McDonagh on board to be a minutes eating/1st pairing D?

And is Killorn someone we should prioritize trading for instead?

For what it's worth, NJ was on McD's no-trade list in 2018. Not that things can't change, but worth considering

Tampa will trade you Killorn(provided NJ is on his trade list, which is probably s long shot) for Van 1st+Nolan Foote..All kidding aside, I think Killorn could go for a late 1st to someone if there are multiple teams interested. It would have to be a serious bidding war to get a mid 1st+prospect though. I think if he gets a late 1st or 2nd+solid prospect it will be fair.

I don't see McD waiving his full ntc, nor do I believe Brisebois asks him to. He's still a very good top 4 dman for Tampa, and I would think the soonest he leaves is after next year if Tampa tries to get Seattle to take him if that's the plan. There are a few ways to clear enough cap to re-sign the three primary rfas, but having McD waive is pretty far down the list imo.
