No, no we don't. Jost is not a #2C; he produces at the level of a #3C at best, and we've got three or four guys like that already. If he was what we wanted, the Avs would never have needed to trade for Kadri.

It would all depend on what Jost is viewed as. If he’s viewed as a center yes, if he’s viewed as a wing it’s debatable.

Hes a center that can play wing if needed

You’re underrating him. He was rushed into the NHL a year to soon and the Avs rapid turnaround and Bednar’s penchant for bouncing him around the line up hurt his production. Through that he still managed solid production and has flashed even more at times, he’s only 22 and give them chance with solid wingers he’s a 40 MAYBE 50 pt guy. But that won’t happen in COL.

I've seen and heard this song and dance so many times with so many different guys. I do not think we are so desperate as to have to go for "but he might be someday" reclamation project.

Works a good amount of the time, you just gotta buy in, look at what the avs themselves did when they took on burakovsky and people said they were robbed blind, even guys like ryan graves and val nichushkin, the right system and culture can light a fire in anyone

But to be fair, Anderson is coming off a horrible year, and significant injury. There's no such thing as a gradual decline for a power-forward. There's a lot of risk for COL here too.

Unless he magically turns into a 50+ point center overnight, he's not going to add anything we don't already have.

I am much more content with gambling with someone who's done it before rather than a "maybe he'll do it someday".

I like Jost as a recovery project, but not for Anderson. If josh is Done with the org and refuses to play again then I could see a deal Going out for a second but I don’t think Jost has the value and proven upside Josh has. Josh was injured all season with a bad shoulder and shot at 1 percent. I have a feeling that won’t happen again.
This gamble isn’t worth it for cbj. At worst Josh is a grinding 4th liner with great speed and physicality. At worst Jost isn’t on the Columbus team because he doesn’t fit the cbj style of hockey.

To sum it up Josh has proven he can hang in a top 9 power forward in this league, while Jost has not proven much.

Except he isn’t a reclamation project. The kid was on his way to 30 pts had a regular role on one of the best teams in the NHL. The narrative that Jost is a bust or not good is the wrong one.

"On his way to 30 points" puts him right back in the "we already have several of those guys, still not interested" realm. The "reclamation project" is the part where we try to turn him into the #2C we need.
