lol Killorn would be an interesting acquisition for San Jose. Not only is he not young, he's also not a C...and also (unlike Strome whose offensive numbers have been solid away from Panarin), not great away from Cirelli.

Ruff loves Trouba. Played him as his #1 PKer and top minutes guy. That's the point.

Faksa's play over the past 2 years has dampened his value a bit, particularly in his own end. 2 years ago you could've easily gotten a 2nd, but with 2 years where the points have gone down not up, and the defensive metrics have done the same.

Howden's no slouch though, And in a slower system like Dallas' I think he could really succeed.

I def think Howden would fit nicely here. I also think Faksa would go back to being a stud if he didn’t have to drag Cogliano and Comeau around and wasn’t quite as buried in the dzone

this might be the dumbest thing ive read in a while. 1) why does San Jose need a center? Both Couture and Hertl are strictly better than Strome. 2) Killorn has been a great 2-way player his entire career, has nothing to do with Cirelli, in fact he mentored and made Cirelli a good 2-way center. 3) Strome spent ~90% of the serason with Panarin, so if we look at his time away from him like thge last 4 years he is a 30 point player

Offensively I agree 100%. Faksa as a netfront guy would definitely get a lot more goals if he had wingers who could actually get the puck on net. Only person I could see that happening with in the bottom 6 is Robertson. Though Cogliano and Comeau along with Faksa do great a shutdown line line that can really neutralize the opposition's top line. But I'd agree that's under utilizing Faksa's skillset.

I mean we can agree to disagree about most of the above. I'd think that San Jose is thinking long term here.....and the very real possibility that San Jose is on Killorn's NTC list.

As opposed to who? You pay a guy 8 million bucks you better believe he’s going to be played in all situations. But because he underachieved this year I cannot see a team, let alone a rebuilding one, fork over a first rounder for him on that contract.

Come on, they weren’t going to throw a rookie out there for big PK minutes at the beginning of the season. He definitely earned it as the season went along though, but from December on the rangers had the 3rd best PK unit in the NHL, no point in switching it up

They do a decent job against top competition, but also produce very little. I think that line is super overrated and I’m ready for a coach that isn’t married to it

I'm hoping with Ruff here, he's gonna get a great D coach. Trouba did not have the year he had previously in Winnipeg. I like JT before he came to NY and think he would have done well with Laviolette as the new coach. He's got s big avg for a while, when does his NTC kick in?

NMC kicks in Nov 1. Trouba's scoring at Evens was actually right in line with his career avg in Winnipeg, Only thing he lost was PP time. I think he'd probably run the PP in NJ which would bring his point totals back up.

If Lindy likes him I wonder how that goes
