I doubt Ottawa would be interested in either player.

Arthur Staple (Isles beat writer) seems to think the only way Lou can get out of cap hell is putting Ladd on Robidas Island. I don't really agree with that approach, since I don't really understand how Lou created Robidas Island in the first place.

Robidas Island is a place that the Leafs created for players who they were able to just define as injured enough to not play - therefore LTIR - Ladd is tough to throw in that category as both Robidas and Lupul had actual injuries that if they played could damage their quality of life

Um... I feel like that pick is going the wrong way in the Wild trade.

Bellows played 8 games this year, and didn't do too much.

Donato played most of the season and had 14G and 9A while on the 4th line and averaging the same amount of minutes. He has top six upside, as you already know considering you made him your 2RW.

The verdict on Bellows is still out.

Ladd has had multiple knee injuries I believe. He played okay in four games, definitely bottom-6 worthy, but Lou can probably make that case for him that if he keeps playing, his knees will be destroyed. Hmm... maybe they actually can pull that off.

If Lou is good at anything, it's these kinds of weird moves. But the way you describe that makes it seem realistic. I'm wary to get too excited about that, I think it's more likely we either bury him and trade other guys, or he's moved in the Parise deal that was supposed to happen at the deadline.

I have a feeling the league may have tightened the rules on that, fairly confident teams were more than a little annoyed the Leafs got away with it but I really don't know or have any back up for that statement

Lou may know something none of us do. Maybe Ladd is ready to retire, he had I think 3 ACL surgeries in 2 years. Has his money, and a cup.
