I feel like they have to give Svech at least a chance to start the year in DET. Also, I feel like Hirose is a lock but would play him 3rd line. Both would require waivers as well and are almost guaranteed to get claimed. While I do agree Smith could easily make this team, I think waivers will be the factor and he can be the 1st call up. Pearson on the other hand, while he improved a lot by the end of the year, I predict close* to a full year in the AHL with a call up or two. Bert and Mantha contracts are spot on, exactly what I have been putting them at in my ACGM's as well.
Who did you use for the comps on Mantha and Bert?
Mantha - 7M is 8.6% CH
Bert - 6M - 7.36% CH
Factor those initial cap hits with the fact the cap is going to be approximately stagnant for 2-3 years and I just don’t see. I’ve laid out a few posts now about comparable players and I think Mantha is 6.25-6.5 (at 6.5 that’s 8% CH) and Bert is ~5 (that’s 6.13% CH). For Mantha context here are some recent signings of comparable or better players with their respective initial CH% Guentzel (7.55), Karlsson (7.24), Teravainen (6.79), Huberdeau (8.08), and Forsberg (8.2).
Hirose should need one more season accrued or roughly 35 NHL games to be waiver eligible. Completely spaced Svech’s waiver eligibility since he was always hurt.

easy no from canucks.were not giving demko away.hes worth more than a fourth by him self.hes a future starter.your team is in a rebuild. other teams are not just gonna give you good players.canucks fans have been there it takes time.would your team give up a goalie who has been touted as the next one in vancouver.we dont need to get rid of louis contract by dismantling our team.
You’re not giving him away. If anything it favors the Canucks since you rid yourself of that Eriksson cap hit when needed to sign EP and Hughes. If you guys re-sign Markstrom you’d lose Demko to Seattle anyway. I’m not sure I’d say Demko is the next great one goalie considering there are so many promising young goalies. He’ll look at Mrazek at his time in Detroit.
