I think were heading in the right direction. I think the biggest thing to do this offseason will be to take on some bad contracts for top prospects and/or picks. We're going to have a lot of cap space even after resigning Bertuzzi and Mantha. I agree that no big free agents will sign in Detroit but that wouldn't make sense for us either. Instead, we should go after some potential bounce back guys (Galchenyuk, Granlund) and overpay them on short term deals. There would be some incentive for them to sign here for top 6 minutes and they could be traded for futures at the TDL. I think we'll try and go after someone a little better at goalie (Talbot or Khudobin) but Bernier was decent last year on a horrible team. If we can't sign a goalie then I could see us trading for one by taking on salary (Getting Demko for taking on Eriksson) or (Georgiev for taking on Smith) or even taking on Jake Allen from St Louis.
