Ha. NO. Ottawa can sign Tierney to a one year deal, keep him until trade deadline and get a better offer for him then. Those are B prospects and Montour's a UFA in 2021, so buying those years will cost far more than he is worth. Tierney on the other hand would likely sign a 4x$4M deal.

Of course you are sorry dude, but you constantly write some kind of nonsense on this site. Ottawa will easily take it and run away, in addition to the top 4 RD they get two not bad prospects, any adequate Ottawa fan would take this deal. But you even write nonsense about the draft, saying that Lundell will be only 3C, of course he could be, but he has a tall IQ, he already plays a decent two-sided game and has a good shot. I will easily take Lundell in front of Holtz. Holtz bad defenseively and poor IQ.
Just proves I'm not the only Ottawa fan who says no to this deal. You just overvalue all your players 10x.
Also I said Lundell jumps in as a 3C for next season. Don't change what I say just so you can make a point... But I guess that's all you can do or else you wouldn't have anything to say.

I don’t see how Tierney costs more than Montour, they are approximately equal, even some Ottawa fans at the HF offered Tierney+ for Montour. I would do a Montour deal for Tierney one on one, but would not add anything.
If
YOU would do a 1 for 1 deal that just shows how skewed the deal is towards Buffalo.

Yes, Montour is an RFA with arbitration rights. So if he elects to go to arbitration gets a ONE YEAR deal... which ends with him as a UFA (summer of 2021).
This is why I am saying Montour's next contract will cost more than Tierney's next contract, because buying UFA years always costs more.
IMO, Tierney is more valuable to a team. As a 3rd line pivot he'd be exceptional, and he can adequately move up to your 2nd line whenever needed.
Statistically Second-Line NHL Centers. All situations range: 39 points to 55 points. Even strength range: 31 points to 39 points. TIERNEY FITS BOTH.
He's also 51.2% in face-offs and is a damn fine penalty killer with 4 shorties this season.
Ottawa has a lot of RHD coming soon - Bernard Docker, Lassi Thomson, Artem Zub, and they likely have Drysdale on the board at 5th OA if they chose. Montour is okay, but I'm pretty comfortable waiting to see what comes of the RHD in the system unless we have a shot at a legit 1st pairing guy - which Montour is not.
The reason why they want to trade Montour is because he is the worst of their 4 RHD. Yet they act like he's some kind of high tier top 4 D man...
