I’m just kidding but wouldn’t rule out something crazy like that happening it’s a very interesting draft class. One player slides can trigger a big move or two.

Rossi over Byfield would be such a mistake

I agree but it would make the draft very exciting seeing an early slide.

I still think Byfield is going second, but I can see a scenario where Rossi is picked over Stutzle just because of the crazy season he had

Even if Detroit takes Perfetti at 4 and Drysdale/Rossi are available at 5 we could see some moves

A lot of experts are linking Stutzle to LA, it makes more sense for them anyways

Byfield is definitely the more talented player, Stutzle is just better all around. I think at that position you gotta take the better player rather than positional need. I think Turcotte would transition to the wing quite nicely, and Byfield would instantly become their future 1c.

Not really. Byfield is starting to grow a reputation of being offensively minded and lazy in his own end. Sure he can play in his own end but from my readings and watching him when he does not have the puck he seems unengaged in his play. Also has an attitude problem and occasionally his work ethic could be deemed questionable by NHL coaching staff. would not surprise me if he drops. Also was way over hyped and I have a feeling that was the start of his downfall. Sure this kid can score but with the issues about him just coming out it wouldnt surprise me if he goes 5th.

It has to catch people’s eyes that Ottawa has two high picks and two players that could go inside top ten play for the 67s. Taking Rossi at 3 I think could be brilliant way to raise value of 5th causing a slide buffalo might offer something to move up a couple spots

Rossi would literally be one of the best choices for Ottawa. He reminds me of Cirelli. If Ottawa could grab Rossi and Raymond or even Drysdale Holy **** would they be stacked.

I’m really high on Quinn. I know it’s a leap but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few this draft.

If Ottawa misses out on Drysdale they should look at Braden Schneider. This guy is a solid 2 way defense man who prefers to play in his own end. But make no mistake this guy can score when required.

So I would say with the picks

SJS = Rossi
Ott = Raymond/Drysdale if Availible
NYI= Schneider/Quinn

Agreed really impressed with the top 40 of this class. Justin Barron is another had eye on.

Exactly. Take a guy like Lundell who will go IMO between picks 9 and 12. In a normal draft year, Lundell is a top 6 but could easily be picked at #12 in this draft. Even in a stacked center year like last year, Lundell would be right in the mix with Cozens, Dach, Zegras, and Turcotte personally I think before Cozens and after Dach and Turcotte.
