Word. In terms of hockey one is like 8 times better than the other.
One is the number one all situation d man for the presidents trophy winner, and eastern conference champ from last year, and the other can’t be counted on for more than 19 minutes a night.

It’s like comparing a decent motor cycle to a 400,000 dollar car because the bike is faster.

You very well could be right. That's the beauty of these discussions. But here's my rebuttal:

While I'll agree he's on a better team, better line, and on a better contract...those are all outside factors. Despite all these factors, Marner still averages more points per game so far than Rantanen. Plus, according to Dom at the Athletic, his projected GSVA was almost a whole point higher than Rantanen's (3.69 vs. 2.87). Rantanen is also a career -21 whereas Marner is a career +27.

16 more goals over almost 300 games isn't terribly convincing.

Haha I love your analogy but I do think Fox can be a top 10 defender in this league like McAvoy. They just have 2 different styles of play. If you notice who I picked, I'm agreeing with you on who'll have the better career. I'm just arguing that they don't belong on the same level.
