Jarry cost 2nd maybe a 2nd and a 3rd so why are you trading Labanc for Hörnqvist 1 for 1? Hörnqvist contract isn't very good.. hell be 34 and signed for another 3 years....

Burns is not getting you that kind of return. Nor are the Pens trading Jarry for Lebanc

every trade but the pens trade gets rejected super fast. The weegar trade is crazily unfair for Florida. Not even close

Leafs will do that for Johnsson or Kerfoot.

Jarry is worth a mid too late first at least. He has higher value than Lebanc.

No way for stars. 0% chance. Giving up a top 6 fwd and a first round pick for an questionable "elite" offensive d with problems actually defending (which we already have that in klingberg). Plus that's another blueliner we'd have to protect in expansion, which we won't do.

Good deals all around. I like them. Probably no Labanc for Horn though

idk.... I wouldn't spend a 1st on a goalie that had a hot 2 months. hes started 57 games... that's basically 1 nhl season as a starter. Andersen would be the most comparable trade but he had 2x the games played when he was traded

I am not a fan of trading a #1 for a goalie either. But you said it Anderson is his comp and that fetched a late first and a mid second.

but he also had similar to better stats while playing 2x the amount of games. you could argue he was an established goalie or at least you had a much larger preview or his talents. Jarry ATM is too much of a question mark for me. Goalie market is always a mystery …. like Colorado took Orpik and gave the capitals a 2nd for Grub... taking 5.5m cap hit could have cost a 1st

Jarry save % above XGA is much better than Anderson's was. Their counting stats GAA and save percentage were similar but more team stats then individual ones.

Burns gets you a first rounder and Cogliano to make salary work. Sorensen and a fifth doesn’t get you close to Roope

If they happen they are great for sharks but I doubt it. These are heavily sharks favored trades

What is the precedent for a goalie with 30 games of good NHL experience (his first cracks in the NHL were not good) netting a mid 1st rounder? Especially when the team trading him is up against it from an expansion draft situation?

Regardless, the SJ 2nd is going to be basically a late 1st based on standings so adding that + Labanc while also taking salary back on Hornqvist is more than sufficient value for Jarry.

The Weegar trade was admittedly undervalued. Probably will cost another/better prospect and pick (Dahlen or Chmelevski). Would also do the current deal for Stralman if there were a way to make the cap work out better.

#Wrong. Burns is worth more than a 1st. There are years of NHL precedent that say that. Burns is worth a 1st and a young top 9 forward with some potential to be a middle 6 guys (which is all that Hintz is given his lackluster point totals, especially at even strength). Sorensen and Cogliano are the same player basically, so swapping them with Dallas getting the one that costs half as much on the cap has value as well.

Everyone of you fans overvalue these young players like they are established stars or something when it comes to trading for guys that are already established NHL stars with years of track record. Burns has his worst point total year of his career due to a horrific coach and forward group that can't do anything yet still is one of the top 10 scoring D-Men in the league. That has value well above a 1st round pick and a cap dump. Always has in this league, and always will.

If Hintz is so mediocre then why do you want him? He put up 0.5 ppg numbers last year. He’s a young cost controlled forward with potential for more. Burns is still a strong player but he’s 35 with 6 years left on his deal. If he was an expiring contract I’m sure you could get a boat load at the deadline. But he isn’t. Trading him now would be smart. But I think you’ll be disappointed with the return. That Vlasic contract is even worse. Most GMs are getting smarter. $8 million per is gonna look pretty bad in a year or two. Even worse when he’s 40

Robin Lehner traded for 21st o/a to Sabres nearly identical career arc although Jarry's advanced stats are much better

I would rather the Pens move Murray instead of Jarry in this situation but this is a trade I actually quite like.
