I don't think that Kubalik gets that much money or term after just one season in the NHL. 3.5-4 mil x 2-3 years seems more realistic. He's an RFA without arbitration so it's not like another team can really come in and drive the price up. Think Panarin when he was on the hawks. We gave him 2 years at 6 mil per and he was much more impressive than Kubalik right off the bat.

Maybe even a 1 year deal, but you are right, not a chance he gets $5.75M with a flat cap for the next 2 years.
