There is potential here as Leafs could grab Rossi who is a player the leafs need.

True, actually if u think about it Dubas can trade down to 9th or 10th spot get a 2nd or something in exchange for doing so than draft Askarov. It worked out well when he drafted sandin as he moved 5 spots and got a 3rd. With the pick being much higher he can grab a 2nd easily giving us pick depth that can be endless.

So lets say we decide to go for Braden Schneider at 11 (we trade Minnesota the 8th overall for their 11th and a 2020 2nd)

Nylander can play center, there was just no need for him to do it cause we had center depth for days.

That Nashville trade is easily the worst I’ve ever seen suggested on here

Sorry to be so harsh,
but we’re easily giving up the 2 best pieces
And Turris blows
It’s just really bad

He filled in at times and I believe when Kadri got suspended during the playoffs he played center as the replacement.

In general he could be great as a center, with some good wings he could surprise some people.

So say Buffalo puts him as the 2c with Skinner and Kahun he would be fine?

Yes, if u look at his FOW% and other stats he has the qualities to be a solid offensive 2c for the sabers. Think of a budget draisaitl if you know what I mean as both can play wing and center well but are not defensively responsible

Leafs would be insane to do this trade as they are just entering their window of winning now. @MitchMarnerElite can we have your extremely valuable comments on this trade.

I actually think he and Skinner would do very well together. Skinner's rough season aside, they both make strong impacts at 5v5, and are complimentary to each other. Skinner is a fantastic goalscorer, especially at even strength and Nylander is great at creating shot assists and putting the puck on teammates sticks when they are in a position to score... could be a deadly duo imo.

Leafs had mixed results trading down in the past. Sandin was a great pick, but they also traded down in 2015 and could’ve had Konecny, but instead had a combo of Bracco, Dermott, and some AHL plugs who will never see the light of day in the NHL.

I would say it's pretty safe to draft down as this is one of the deepest drafts since 2005. I say f the happened dubas should move from the 8th spot to the 15th get an extra 2nd and draft Braden Schneider. Sure Rossi would be the but Schneider is a solid defensive defense man and with the extra 2nd dubas can have some fun possibly getting another steal like he did with Robertson

I mean it’s not like it’ll happen cause leafs won’t trade nylander so earliest they could pick is like 15ish anyways. Which like you said would be Brendan Schneider because I believe the Carolina trade is conditional on playoffs

The Sabres would be asking him to produce more than he did playing with Auston Matthew's and John Tavares playing with Skinner and maybe Reinhart. Good players but not elite. Additionally he would have added defensive responsibilities playing C that would take away from his offensive game. This is too high a price for the Sabres to pay for this player. Perhaps another team more established down the wing that needs his offensive punch on the wing but Nylander and Skinner together on a line would be a nightmare defensively unless they were playing with a Selke caliber forward as their third linemate

Didn’t skinner just have a horrible season though? And at 9 million for another 7 seasons is bad if he can’t bounce back

Ok so let's just trade him and a good prospect for *checks notes*
Turris making 6 mil for 4 years and could barely make the lineup in Nashville
Yup I dont know you got me there.

Or we can play skinner not with sobotka and other trash players and let him thrive with people that can play hockey

Turris was in Laviolettes dog house and was either put on the 4th line with probably the same quality of line mate that skinner was put with or was benched for a guy that only played 4 minutes. When he was put in a position that wasn’t the 4th line when hynes got here he started to improve 13 points in the last 23 games. Playing in all situations ,PK ,defensive roles were the most surprising. The point being you have to know the situations why a player had a down year. Turris broke his foot last year came back 2 early and rebroke the same foot And injured his ribs as well. This year when he looked healthy was bumped all around the line up mostly the bottom of it. And didn’t seem to have a place for him. Then was benched because of his coach. I think if Turris could get in place where he could play 2c around players like skinner and maybe Reinhart he could be 50 point possibly 60 point player. I think instead of a skinner Turris trade buffalo should take a chance on Turris maybe Having the preds retain a million or million and half Of his salary and play him at 2c
