Out of curiosity, which ones would you protect for the ED out of these players?

That to me is a pretty weak return for Evandro Kane, Even if we were rebuilding I think that’s a no since our GM thinks we can compete that’s a Hard no. It’s a start but a no we would need that plus an NHL ready player.

Weak return. A ish prospect and a 1st. You can have Haglin or Boyd. Probably both. Don’t know how much more a team would offer for him

I wanted to trade for Hertl but I wasn’t sure if he would be available. He’s young and kinda fits with a quick rebuild not a deconstruction then rebuild. Kane imo would be available since his value is good atm and sharks could get some good assets. If Kane has a down year his value isn’t nearly as good.

Hertl has more value since he’s 2 years younger and on a cheaper contract.... but I don’t know why Kane has been solid the last 4 years Is a premier power forward is only 28 and his contract ends right as he will start his decline in his 33/34 season.
Anyways I’m not trying to overvalue my fan favorites but I legitimately think if the first was 14-18 The sharks bite but since it will be more like 27-30 I still think an nhl ready middle 6 guy would be necessary

To me Labanc is worth a late first or 2 2nds so yeah that would be pretty close in value.

The idea of the expansion draft is that each team will lose a decent player. That is why it is set up the way that it is set up.

The most straight forward world be:
7F: Ovechkin, Backstrom, Vrana, Eller, Wilson, Oshie, Kane
3D: Carlson, Orlov, Hanifin
G: Samsonov
Exempt: McMichael, Fehervary
Best Exposed: Siegenthaler, Vanecek

However, I personally would expose Oshie to try to get Seattle to take that contract. Expose Oshie and give Seattle a 3rd to take him instead of Vanecek.
