Description
Playing around with some options trying to come up with a roster that can compete without destroying our Ankle deep prospect pool.

Just had To sign Kovalchyk to form the oldest/ most skilled 4th line in hockey lol.

Johnson and kap trade was from a few others I’ve seen and helps them free up a bit of cap space for a D man while adding a good middle 6 winger

Stalock trade is steep price for a backup but he comes with a great contract and a he’s Been solid lately.

Last I have Pittsburg winning the cup but I don’t care if it’s them or Washington either way we get a 2nd

Jones is a standard buyout but I just don’t see a better option since his play is pathetic. If anyone is willing to take him on we will retain 50% of his Salary!

Not a playoff team, And having 8 years of dead money on the Martin Jones contract with a flat cap, Isn't a very wise decision.

I agree but watching Jones screw us over for the next 4 years isnt appealing either, I figure the next 2 years this goalie tandem compensated for the buyout, then one of the kids comes in at ELC for 2 years and in the 5th of 7 years the cap will have increased and the young goalies will just be getting into higher end contracts.

Wild aren't moving Stalock for that. Sorenson isn't worth his tiny contract.

Sorenson a solid goalie prospect and a 3rd seems more than fair, You have 3 NHL caliber goalies and Kappo needs to play in the NHL

Dubnyk likely won't be with the team next year. Wild need to keep Stalock so they don't have to expose Kahkonen in the expansion draft. The trade is closer if you don't put Sorenson in it.

Does min buy him out or are you thinking someone takes on his contract?

Waiver, or buyout. It's a very cheap buyout.

MN would rather have the salary cap savings and the roster spot. Really don't need more bottom 6 type players.

How? It’s 2/3 salary over double the years left I count 2 years at 1.67

Not OP, and I probably wouldn’t endorse a trade like that but let’s hear what the correct value of Johnsson and Kapanen is according to a leaf fan. I’m interested.

Labanc and a 2nd is close to the value for Kapanen.

Roy is an ahler and is nothing but a contract filler.

Roy is a good caliber shut down defenseman who needs a shot next year but he’s blocked in San Jose by like 5 guys similar to him not saying he’s great but he is a bottom
Pairing guy with top 4 potential.
Kap is very close to Labanc So your kap and a 2nd is bs I’d say Labanc is a slightly better player the advantage goes to kap only cause he’s already locked into a contract while Labanc is RFA

Labanc is better? I say no to that. I would rather have kappy for his defensive game and penalty killing... and hitting and fighting... leafs need that. Offensively they are similar. Lebanc is up for a contract like you mentioned. So not knowing his demands after taking a team friendly deal only to be traded is iffy.

Like I said, Labanc and a mid 2nd is close, maybe a 3rd.

Roy is what the leafs have plenty of. We need nhl experienced rhd or nothing at all.
