K. This is an 8 year deal. Aho signed for 5. So i would say an 8 year deal for aho would probably have been 10.5, maybe 11, given what he actually got paid. Then take NY tax into account, and barzal will probably think he’s worth a bit more than that.

I think Aho would've gotten 9.5 if he got 8 years. Comparing it to NY translates to around 10.5, which Barzal isn't worth yet. Because unlike Aho, he solely relies on playmaking and posession. Aho does that and scores goals. Which is why I think Barzal, like Lee, would be better off taking a bridge to bet on himself cause there's still more to prove.

If you think the difference between 5 years and 8 years coming off an ELC is an 11% bump, i just don’t know what to tell you other than you’re wrong.

Also, keep in mind, at least imo, that Aho is vastly underpaid as well.
