The difference between Domi and Kapanen isn't, 2.8m and the potential of Robertson. Like Domi and he's good asa agitating 50 point player, but do expect more year after year...doubtful.

Why are Leaf fans so high on Robertson?

Watching him play, he seems like a prospect who has potential, but not at the level Leaf fans propose.

Many Leaf fans get mesmerized by junior or AHL stats. Certainly I think Robertson has NHL potential, but he is two years away at least to being a difference maker in the NHL. Some Leaf fans have him into the top 6 starting next season. More wishful thinking than reality I would say.

Every fan base has that one guy that gets over-hyped and Robertson's the TML representative. For Edmonton I'd call out Bouchard, yes he's very interesting but some are treating him like he's Paul Coffey because you haven't had a great defender since .... Paul Coffey basically yet I like Broberg more than him because he's younger AND he already plays in a tougher league.

Make no sense for St Louis to take on Tomas Tatar while dealing both Dunn and Allen. The whole idea of trading them is to resign Alex Pietrangelo. Taking on Tatar defeats that purpose. And Detroit is taking Cole Perfetti at #4.

Habs lose both these trades.

Kapanen is good but is also a product of ythe best top 6 in the league, Robertson doesnt make up the difference and Juulsen is fully recovetred and could be a top 4 dman still

Dunn is good but has to be resigned just like Tatar,Mete is worth more then Allen so just a lose for MTL

Leafs say no on this.
Robertson is at least a minimum of another full season away from being on the Leafs.

Because he's a Debrincat in the making. Roughly same size and height and pretty much the same junior dominance at 18 years old

55 goals in 46 games in the OHL as an 18 year old. Alex debrincat's Draft plus one year he had 65 goals in 63 games.

you'll be hard pressed to find a CHL player in the cap era who put up over a goal per game in their draft plus 1 year who isn't at least a good NHLer.

This kid will score 20 next year with the leafs, oh ya he also kills penalties and isn't afraid to play a gritty game.
