My thinking was it would be better for them to move one bigger asset than moving a bunch of smaller ones. Some combo of Kandre, Chytil, Kravtsov, Lias, 1st round picks. NYR is basically paying Georgiev an a 1st to upgrade for Kakko to Kane. Obvioulsy kakko is 19 and a #2 pick so it remains to be seen whether or not its truly an upgrade 5-10 years down the line

Except we're not going all in as soon as next season so this doesn't nothing for us

Krejci is coming up on free agency and could be retained for fair market value on perhaps a two year deal. $9.5M cap hit, with retention, would be steep for Boston with the cap flattening. Toews is awesome but can’t do that. And with Krug possibly leaving along with the eventual retirement the Bs need food LHD prospects.

We're also taking all thier cap dumps so they can afford to resign guys like tanev and markstrom. VAN is entering a championsip window, their roster is much better off with Markstrom, saad, dehaan, tanev, etc than with podkolzin, demko as starter, and all these cap dumps in the bottom portion of the roster. Definitely could change up the deal so VAN gets a pick or something if saad walks

As good as Kane is, I think the Rangers say no. They're gonna need the cap space that Kane would take up in the next couple years to sign guys like Fox, Shesterkin, Kakko and most importantly Zibanejad

Gotta be honest though, bruins probably dont even do Krejci for Toews 1 for 1. Would rather be able to resign krejci for less money than be stuck with an aging toews for signficantly more money and three more years

Toews is significantly better than Krejci. I understand the contract situation would probably makes this a bad move though. Thanks for the feedback
