As Carolina sheds executives left and right because the owner doesnt want to pay them adequately I think it's time to appreciate that he forced to do it because of an offer sheet.....

You say weak offer sheet yet it's the thing forcing him to lose executives because he cant pay them.

Yeah that IS was BS he should have offer like 9 or 10 Mil and given up the 4 1sts if he wanted Aho. Hopefully he learned his lesson and if he uses the OS again uses it correctly.

Uh, are you dumb? They've lost 1 exec so far. 1 whole exec. OH it's the one that bounces around from place to place because he likes the changes of surroundings? But he's left because Dundon cannot afford him, despite being one of the 100 richest men on the continent? Get the hell outta here LMAO. This illusion that Dundon can't afford to extend him because of Aho is a joke.

Dudley left. He's one of the guys that turned Toronto, New Jersey etc around. He often bounces around from place to place, yet this bozo wants to believe it's because of the weakest offersheet ever mustered. It's not even based of Covid. Dundon is singlehandedly paying every single person who works at PNC Arena, his players, staff and some dumb person chooses to believe it's because of the Aho contract. It's just laughable.

so many business are letting go of employees all across the US and the rest of the world due the COVID pandemic.
Hockey is no exception.
This has nothing to do with an offer sheet and everything to do with what's currently affecting us all globally.
CAR isn't the first and certainly won't be the last to let go of some of their hockey operations and adminstrative employees.
There's no hockey being played, no revenue coming in - why pay for someone to sit at home and do nothing?

Ok, and the other 4 exec's that need contracts? Or the play by play announcer that is unhappy with how negotiations are going?

If it wasnt a joke....then why is he having such a hard time resigning people.......why was he not able to lock Aho up to this "easy" contract during the open negotiation period....read the signs man, your owner is cheap and wasnt expecting to spend this much on his NHL team. Add in losing his investment in that other sports league he tried to start (football? Soccer? Something) and things arent as rosey in Carolina as you want to pretend they are

He actually used it brilliantly. It was a win win for MTL either way the offer sheet went.

They dont match, they get Aho for a good price

They match and MTL gets itself out of the pressure of FA spending when there isnt any FAs MTL actually wants, just ones the media wants

Win Win

The other 4 who ae currently in negotiations and want to stay? Yeah, that doesn't mean their out, it just means they are in negotiations. As for Forslund, this happens EVERY year. It has nothing to do with the money, it has to be done in a certain way that he gets time to be called up for NBC, but also does Canes games when he's not on National Broadcasts. This has nothing to do with finances. When you consider he's still one of the richest men in North America, even after the AAF debacle. This has NOTHING to do with Aho, or the pandemic. Stop acting like it has, because you clearly know nothing about the Hurricanes. Things financially are fine in Carolina. If he needed money, all he has to do is shift a defender. It's not hard! Jfc, you're trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

1 agree with your first point but I said IF he actually intended on getting Aho he should have known it was going to take more than that to make Carolina consider not matching. This year I can honestly say has the most potential of working especially against teams like Tampa. If you waited for them to sign 2 of their RFA's you could offer 8.45 for 5 years to Sergachev and it would be very very hard for them to match for 2 reasons 1 it's an overpayment and 2 they wouldn't have the space

The contract is horrible and was made that way. It walks Aho straight to free agency, is almost exclusively signing bonuses to **** with Carolina's owner who hates giving signing bonuses.

Imagine if the Habs win first overall, that pick would've gone to Carolina. That would've been crazy.
