Not with that defense.

The Kings will pass on Johnsson. They don't need any more bottom six guys and certainly don't want to give up any picks in this year's draft.

Curious to see which team will snag Bracco off of waivers.

You are cutting down the defence but do not understand your comment. Rielly probably in top 10 defenceman in NHL, Muzzen one of top shutdown dman in NHL, Sandin a tremendous prospect who was best defenceman at World Juniors and AHL before promotion to Leafs, Dermott a up and commer dman, Holl proved his abilities as a shut down dman and Lehtonen who was best dman is Europe last year. This defence core is right up there with other top d cores in NHL.

Johnson is a potential 60 point player who can play on Kings top 2 lines and is still quite young and worth a 3rd round pick. Agree with you that some team is going to take a chance on Bracco as kid has too much talent and just needs an oportunity to play in NHL.

Until that defense can keep the opposition to less than 3 GA per game, I would hesitate to call them one of the "top d-cores" in the NHL. Analytics might show that some of those guys are decent defenders, but as a whole, they're pretty garbage at keeping pucks out of their net.

Johnsson is a potential 60-point player on the Leafs. That doesn't translate to a 60-point player on the Kings. At best, Johnsson is a 15g-35p player on the Kings. The Kings already have that with Adrian Kempe, who is a better all-around version of Johnsson. In order to get a spot in this lineup, he would need to displace one of Kempe or Iafallo, and he is better than neither of them. The Kings would rather keep their 3rd.

The Leafs's big four of Tavares, Matthews, Marner and Nylander and Rielly on defence time has arrived and no team can match this fire power going forward.

The Leafs were hit extremely hard by injuries last year which hurt their stats and became a much better team after Sheldon Keefe took over from Babcock so I am expecting big things from this team going forward.

Still need a few more dman, Reilly Can’t hold himself, and with that cap situation, I’d say Goodbye to Him, Anderson Or Marner, and BTW, Boston Tampa, St Louis, Dallas, Colorado and Don’t forget Florida Will shut down the leafs, keeeap Dreamin’!

Toronto was better Without Tavares, And you could’ve gotten O’Reilly Cheap considering what Buffalo did, Johnson, 1st, Prob a 2nd Gauthier and Something else

That might be true, but until then it's all just "good on paper." I'm skeptical until they show me otherwise.

You can not be serious of letting Rielly walk. He is the heart of the team and one of top 5 dman in entire NHL when his is healthy. Played virtually all of last year hurt which says alot for his heart. I agree with you that Anderson may be on the move but not a chance Marner is going anywhere unless you believe @MitchMarnerElite and his posts.

The Leafs time has arrived and they can take out all those teams you named with Sheldon Keefe now coaching the team.

They can stop it by playing defensively sound hockey. By playing physical and breaking down the Leafs one by one. Bruins, St. Louis, Islanders, Penguins, and Flyers are all teams that can beat the Leaf's that way. Take Matthews out of the lineup and there's a good chunk of your offense gone.

I don't understand how a Leafs fan can be so overconfident after getting beat in the 1st round by the same team 2 or 3 years in a row with a very similar roster.

Your "Big Four" takes up almost 50% of your cap and you lack quality defense after Muzzin and Holl as well as bottom 6 role players which are incredibly important to winning a Stanley Cup. In order to win a Stanley cup, your WHOLE team needs to be playing excellent hockey. That means not just your top 6, but your 3rd and 4th lines, your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd D pairs as well. Leafs are a great regular season team, yet they lacked quality in all those other areas. This is another reason why they fail in the post season.

Offense doesn't win you Stanley Cups. If you believe that, then you have many more years of disappointment ahead of you. Heart wins you Stanley Cups which the Leafs have little of. Their best players care more about double digit millions than the game itself.

Yeaaaah No, Morgan Reilly is not a top 5 dman, Carlson Hedman Slavin Hamilton Josi and Peitrangelo(even though the last 2 have flaws) are better than Morgan Hesh Even Shea Theodore Might even be better than Reilly, Even Hughes and Makar(Ik that’s a long shot)

I do not belive Mitch Marner Elites Weirdness But in Heinsight, it’s one of the 3 Bye

I mean Johnsson was playing top 6 on Matthews wing so don't know where you got bottom 6 from. At worst hes a third liner but would easily be in the Kings top 6

Read your own comment again. You go from describing three of the six defensemen as follows: "Sandin a tremendous prospect"; "Dermott an up and commer Dman"; and "Lehtonen who was the best Dman in Europe last year.", which means that all three are unproven, to "This defense core is right up there with other top d cores in the NHL."

I love the enthusiasm but you are over the top a bit friend. While definitely another real human I wonder if your posts are aimed at creating controversy since we all know that legions of leaf haters are going to jump on this to smack talk.

The Leafs defence is underrated for sure. According to all those on here who say it sucks. Keefe's system can't work, young players can't get better, missing your two best defenceman shouldn't have an impact and being one of the youngest teams in hockey means they never make mistakes as they learn. All of that of course it bull**** and while they won't be the best team defensively the Gulf between any deficiencies and their dominant offence will make them a feared team for sure.

I won't be putting much stock on the results of the first 2 rounds. These playoffs are a crap shoot. If they win cool, if they lose, I won't be disappointed. In a best of 5 ant team can get on a roll early and it's essentially over.

Definitely wouldn't say they're clearly better, especially Kempe. Johnsson had 43 points in 73 games playing less than 14 minutes per game his last full(ish) season. Hes solid defensively too and would slot ahead of Kempe I think
