1OA trade

Créé par: Timmah007
Équipe: 2020-21 Oilers d'Edmonton
Date de création initiale: 29 juin 2020
Publié: 29 juin 2020
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Offer JP the opportunity he should have gotten a few years ago.
Trading down I think would be the classy thing for Edmonton to do. Cap flexibility possibly superstar level goalie and Quinn is still significantly more than was possible 6 months ago.

devils trade makes little to no sense, over paid guy and a 1st later than the 2 firsts you are getting plus a young forward, why would the devils even look at that, like honestly

Bud, that’s first overall he said. Which makes this trade so horrible for the oilers. If they draft Lafreniere they will keep him.

If the Oilers get 1OA there are only options, in order

1. They draft Lafreniere
2. They trade it to Ottawa with Neal for number 3 and the Isles first rounder.
3. They trade it to the Kings with Neal for number 2 and a top prospect

We need to stay in the top 3 if we trade the 1OA no exception

The Kings won't trade up from #2 to #1 if there's a "top prospect" included. The gap between Byfield and Lafreniere isn't worth a player like Turcotte or Vilardi.

I disagree, Lafreniere is in a league all his own, it’s not even close

I’d love Laf that would be insane but chance to add goalie prospect like that and a pure goal scorer in Quinn I think helps the team more. Adding a depth C while creating cap flexibility is a nice bonus.

i know but i mean edm should at least remove him from the deal to make it more fair. i would change a 3rd to a early 2nd as well at least. i don’t rly know the value of nurse but i think the trade would be a bit better for edm that way.

From what I have seen on here, you either love Nurse or you don’t think he is that special. I personally think Nurse is a solid number 3 D that can definitely be a number 2 with the right partner. The only thing in my opinion that keeps him from being a bonafide top pair is his first pass out of his zone is average.

Great skater very mobile. Agreed his first pass is average. He could improve on his consistency playing more physical.

Lafreniere is 8 months older and a full year further along in his development process. The gap now might be significant, but if you compare the player Byfield is now to the player Lafreniere was one year ago, the gap narrows significantly. Similarly, if you compare the player Byfield will be at this time next year to the player Lafreniere is now, I think the gap will also be significantly narrowed.

I think the Kings would absolutely take Lafreniere over Byfield given the chance, but they're not going to give up a prospect like Turcotte or Vilardi to do it. If Edmonton does win and wants to trade for immediate help, I could see the Kings including a player like Iafallo and a prospect like Kupari.

Just like it would be dumb for Ottawa to trade the #3 and #5 pick for the #1 pick this year, it would be dumb for the Kings to trade the #2 from this year and the #5 from last year for the #1.

Why would Edmonton trade away the chance to draft the best player available that happens to fill arguably the biggest need the team has for years to come. Of all the teams that could win first overall Edmonton is probably least likely to even think about trading it away.
Getting rid of Neal's money and acquiring a 4th line center should not be prioritized over possibly seeing Lafrieniere on Connor McDavid's wing

i love nurse. i just don’t like how the deal is lopsided for montreal. i don’t know if he is worth way more than i said he was tho. he’s actually the dman i want the habs to trade for.
