I think the jets consider it but at the end of the day, copp is too big of a part of the team. He is our best pker, is versatile, and is a big part of the leadership on the team. Unless he forces his way out there or the jets can’t afford him, I don’t see him going anywhere.

Good value though and solid trade imo. I just don’t think the jets do it.

ive done lots of Copp trades and u seem to say this lots, but i don't see this all that much from other WPG fans. I totally see what you mean here, I would guess this gets positioned around a Haula UFA signing.

I feel jets fans don’t keep him because he is a valuable asset to other teams who can be used to get a bigger player. That said, unless he’s bringing in a 2c who is good in his own end like cirelli, I don’t see him being moved.

I assume you mean the jets signing haula? Even so I wouldn’t move him. In the short term the jets are set at almost every position (rd being one of them). The only holes I see are 2C and 2ld.

A lot of people judge players based on their scoring but players who watch a lot of jets games know that copp is one of the most valuable forwards in the jets. The fact that he can play lw and c and switch between the two seamlessly is a big plus. And he is really good in his own end. If you look at our pk with copp vs when he was injured, the difference is very large. Without him and Lowry, we are near the bottom of the league in pk %. With both of them, we are around 10th. Now it’s hard to measure who has the bigger impact but visibly it’s copp. I think retaining at least one next year will be crucial

That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him get traded before the expansion draft since he did go to arbitration last year and has the same agent as trouba.

Sorry for being repetitive

Tear down is great idea and the first order of business is to fire Marc Bergevin the most incompetent GM in professional hockey.

You can not be serious? How Bergervin still has a job managing the Canadiens is beyond me. He is single handedly destroying a proud NHL franchise and continues to snow the team's fan base.

You do realize that the only reason he has the job as GM of the Canadiens is all his oldboy hockey connections and nothing based on merit.

I'd rather drop Lehkonen in favor of a better pick, but otherwise the Jackets trade is IMO worth considering.

You need to wake up and stop believing everything Bergevin keeps telling you.

I am so tired of Bergevin the way he talks to the media and sugar coats every roster move he makes to try to save his job. It is time for him to go and bring in someone competent to run this once great organization.

Yes, they need to fire Bergevin first and bring in a competent GM and then as you know start the rebuild. This team is winning nothing with the Price and Weber contracts.

I think they are somewhere in the middle. Bergevin did have a fair number of decent trades and I think in the last two years he has recovered his rep a bit.

However, what remains constant is how this fanbase still thinks they have a competent team, and that their players cost a fortune. This is one of few teams without an elite player, and the fans sell too high on their players. They think the team is far better than it is. Even their prospect pool is overrated.

Who cares what Bergevin thinks and he has demonstated time and time again that he is out to lunch. He made me sick recently the way he talked about Kovy as if he was still an elite player. This team is going no where until Bergevin is replaced.
