Oiler fan here: I like the idea of getting Silfverberg and I don't hate the trade, but I don't know how well it works with the cap. If you are the GM, would you accept something with Neal in return or retain some of the salary to make it work?

Yes but it would cost a 1st maybe a tad more to eat his deal

I'd say the TBL one looks like it's in favour of the Lightning, but that's just me because I think that Lindholm is a better defenseman than Sergachev. And I also like Larsson much better than a third.

Yeah I agree Lindholm is better I just thought picking up a young stud LHD like him would be an offer Anaheim can’t refuse. If we can’t re-sign him or talks go south we’ll get crap for him next year as an expiring contract and I’d rather just sell high now

Silfverberg is a better player then AA all around but not by as much as this trade suggests. You are getting screwed in the Leafs deal. Avs say no, no way they are giving up a highly regarded RHD prospect and a first. I think Tampa passes also

I disagree with everything you just said. Tampa upgrades their Left side and don’t have to pay Sergachev. Leafs fans always say it’s too much so I put this even tho Manson is worth lily and Kapanen, Avs would probably say no but I would take Martin Kaut instead, oilers aren’t giving anything special in that deal. Kharia is a 4th liner and Benning is a third pairing defenseman

That's a "not a snowball's chance in hell" from the Jackets. Henrique might be of interest, but the term on his contract is of some concern - and Rowney and a two-years-in-the-future 6th are of pretty much no value to us (indeed, Rowney is more of a "no, you pay us" scenario; there's no place for him to play on the NHL roster here). The 1st is not being given up for Henrique given those term concerns, Anderson is worth a heck of a lot more to us as a gamble than as a throw-in like that, and you're not doing us any favors by taking on Wennberg since he's a 1/3 buyout. That is awful for the Jackets.

Anderson is overrated by jackets fan’s. He was good with Panarin now he has 4 points. Wennberg sucks and isn’t worth $4.9M, that first is gonna be late. Henrique helps the jackets 2C problem and his term is fine lol

Ducks have cap space so I don’t really care lol. Lightning trade I explained above, Silverberg trade is a little light but I like AA and moving his deal now rather than later, leafs deal is Because those losers also downgrade his value. It went from Lily, Kapanen, two 2nd rounders all the way to just lily. Sick of those morons.

@Foreskin_Gump Ive been saying this for years its time for this organization to take chances and get a little aggressive. I'd actually like to see many of these take place. That said, Getzlaf will probably never be seen in another uniform.

@Smokingun71 I do understand that the avs trade is more ducks favored but with their deep prospect pool some guys are gonna have to go. Also lets be honest Timmins is good but not top 2 good. Plus, the first should be a 26-32 overall pick which really isn't that significant all things considered if lets say they had a successful playoff run or won the cup. Nevertheless, I agree that Tampa passes.

It's a stretch to say Rico solves any 2C issues in CBJ - he's basically an older more expensive Jenner

Leafs decline - they're a playoff team without Manson and his contract is up very soon and Liljegren will be better than Manson sooner rather than later - Ducks can keep Manson.

What?

Panarin spent nearly all of his time with PLD at center and one of Bjorkstrand or Atkinson on the wing. Anderson's most common linemate was Boone Jenner, and the left wing on that line rotated between several guys. Anderson briefly played with Panarin and PLD in December 2017, but that experiment only lasted a few weeks.

He pretty consistently produces more points than Jenner, so he'd be a moderately better #2C standin replacement. The real concern is that he's 30 and signed 'till he's 35.

As Avs fans have been stating in the last few AGM's where Timmins + 1st for Rakell has been suggested, it is not likely to happen.

Timmins is too important for Avs as Johnson's replacement as a top 4 RHD so they can't give up on him just yet. Unless of course we sign Pietrangelo, but that's a long-shot at best.

There will also likely be other teams closer to the cap ceiling and with fewer years left in their contending window who will be more willing to pay through the nose for Rakell, and who will thus price Colorado out of this sort of trade.

Btw, if I'm Anaheim's GM i'd be retaining 50% on Rakell if/when I trade him. That way you'd get more teams involved in the bidding (pushing the price up), and also pick up an extra asset or two for the retention. Rakell at less than $1.9m AAV for 2 years would be insanely good value and I could see teams like Washington, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Tampa, Toronto, and maybe Philadelphia throwing the farm at that.
