I like the tampa trade TBH, my only concern is that walsh probably couldnt be the D going back. He is going into his 4th year at harvard and would be a UFA. I dont know if you take the risk and just give up cernak for a 2nd rounder. I would almost be inclined to take a lesser prospect with the certainty that I would hold his rights for about 5-10 years.
I think the bos trade is fair value but IDK if bos makes very good bedfellows to be honest. I think the devils are still rebuilding, but are almost past the point of stockpiling piecemeal assets. I think they need to gear their mindset more towards consolodating existing assets into in order to upgrade for a select few roster players. this team has a looooot of forwards in the system and 8 draft picks in the next 2 years. we are already seeing them forgo the opprotunity to give mid and low tier prospects ELCs or contracts in albany.
the zacha trade just doesnt really make sense to me. hes a cost controlled 3C, and I think he will be valuable when zajac's contract expires next year.
inject the wood trade directly into me veins. hes practically a cap dump in my eyes at this point. Hes also an RFA in the near future and has already held out for more money the last time around. Tell him to kick rocks and hope that another GM has some infatuation with him.
