I'm not sure how this helps either team. DET trading away 2 RHD (Bowey is definitely on the block, but Lindstrom had a decent kickoff in 15-ish games this year, and is still learning the NA ice) for 2 much older players, and 2 picks that come a few years out that are a crapshoot at best (2nd round picks have less than a 35% chance of playing 100 games in the NHL). DET isn't anywhere close to a playoff team, so when they are, the players wouldn't even be on the roster.
COL is trading away some bottom 6 sandpaper, and a LHD with 2 cups to his name, and the only guy on the team that has won a cup (from what I can tell), and 2 picks they can use to bring real help to the team.
If you are looking for left/right balance, I can see making a deal for Bowey for a low pick (late 3rd at the earliest, probably a 4th rounder). But giving up Cole (a good 3/4 guy) for a Bowey (5/6 guy at best), and a Lindstrom (maybe #4 potential) really has no value for either team.
