NJ is in a full rebuild. They are not trading away a 1st and a blueliner prospect for a 32 year old.

The Ottawa trades are really bad for Sens.

Tampa wouldn't make that Sergachev trade.

NJ aren't buying rentals for valuable futures.

Overall this isn't very realistic.

Would Montreal have any interest in trading up to Colorado's #27 pick?

For example, #27 for #39 + #40

The Sens are getting hosed. Not even close to fair value.

I like Tatar, but with no guarantee of an extension I would be hesitant to do this deal. Killorn could be had for cheaper or NSH could go after Hoffman/Dadonov for free. So I don't think this would be option A for NSH -- if they lose out on some of the other big name players, then I could see them being interested in Tatar. But I think they will look elsewhere first.

Really Tampa would not want into the first round of a Very deep draft! Not to mention that they get an additional 2nd. Somehow I think they would take that deal especailly seeing as there is the very real possibility that the Nashville pick is in the top 15.

Maybe the Devils do not take that deal without an additional sweetner, so lets say we add Montreal's 2021 1st to the mix

Byron hold negative value. You will not get any return for him.
It's not because he is bad or anything, it's just that equally talented guys ie. Spezza can be had for about $1M on shorter terms.
A Byron trade would look like Byron + our 2nd and our 3rd for another teams 7th or less

The other trade is way worse for Ottawa. Paul Byron isn't worth a 3rd, let alone two 2nds and a 3rd. He's an injury prone 4th liner making 3.4mil for way too long. I don't care how local he is, Ottawa isn't touching that.

I updated this as well to be Byron (1.4 Mil retained) + 2021 3rd for 2020 2nd (NYI) would that work?

the value is actually only a 2nd but because the offered second is so late I threw in the 5th.

You aren't getting Puljujarvi with that offer and for sure you aren't getting Sergachev.

it has been well documented that the ask from the Oilers is a 2nd round pick

as for Sergachev then the Habs can just OS him which only adds a 3rd to the package and Tampa still can't match

Draft picks don't help Tampa right now during their cup window.

Last fall Carolina offered a 2nd + a prospect. They couldn't agree on the prospect so the trade didn't happen. Puljujarvi went on to put together a pretty nice season, dominating Liiga and leading his team to a 1st place finish.

Recently it was reported out of New York that Holland was looking for a 1st for Puljujarvi. So your claim is inaccurate.

Take out the 2nd going to Nashvlle, make the 3rd a decent prospect and you have the price for Tatar, IF NASHVILLE IS A PLAYOFF SPOT.

The rest of the trades dont work for various reasons, NJ wont be taking on older players but you have Petrys value right in a trade - Byron needs a healthy season and then he worth a 2nd by himself - Tampa inst giving him up that cheap when an offer sheet could get more

the only real one if the edmonton trade

Not really. What he brings to the table is not worth those kinds of picks to a rebuilding team. He's not 2016 Paul Byron anymore. At 31, Sens would be paying to get the worst years of his career. It just isn't a fit.
