Dobson is our future and virtually untouchable. Any trade includes Boeser or its a non-starter

I think that's fair. NYI have a plethora of D-men but I think Dobson is more valuable right now because he is much closer to being full-time NHL ready

He won't be in the NHL any time soon though. And I think Dobson's upside (and value) as a *potential* top-pair RHD is greater than Podkolzin as a *potential* top-line forward. I don't think NYI would even consider this to be honest

I mean that's fair enough. RHD > pretty much anything else, but I figured this would be an instance where you use an area of strength to address an area of weakness. Like a lesser version of the Jones/Johansen deal or what the Hall/Larsson deal was supposed to be lol.

No I don't think Dobson is gonna require boeser or anything close. He'd be a potential headliner in a deal for a Boeser if he was for sale per say, but no, boeser doesn't need to lead an offer for Dobson. With that being said, Dobson is an exceptional prospect. But, since this other guy is a winger, might need to consider especially if he progresses like I remember he was projected to

I'm not very familiar with Vancouver's prospect system, but if its a RHD for FWD prospect trade you're looking for maybe Bode Wilde? How untouchable is Hoglander? That seems more in line to me.

Podkolzin didn't get much playing time throughout the KHL regular season as he plays for Putin's stacked team, but in the Playoffs he played amazing. He'll get more opportunity next season as the team had made some trades to clear a spot for him in the lineup.

I think he's basically perceived to be a Russian Wahlstrom. Not further along in development than Olly either. I don't see the point in giving up Dobson to acquire him in this hypothetical

No thanks. Would rather keep Dobson. But I would do something around Dobson and Boeser.

That would be essentially the same trade just a tier lower in terms of players involved. I was thinking about that exact swap originally but then elevated it to the two top prospects instead.

From the outside looking in, I would be a little hesitant with Wilde because he seems like a complete wild card. Also, was it reported that he had attitude issues?

Wahlstrom is a goal scorer. Podkolzin plays a relentless two-way game as a winger. He earned the right to play defensive minutes for Russia as a 17 year old at the WJC, which is pretty impressive.

He's extremely intriguing but Dobson is more of a sure thing here. Need a guy you know is gonna be good if you move him methinks

That's completely fair. Just wanted to see if both teams could fill positional needs.

Those rumors were definitely unsubstantiated. I think he's a solid prospect and future NHL player for sure. BPT coaching staff said Wilde was a pleasure and one of the most coachable players on the team. He went down to juniors late this season because he had a nagging injury (ankle) from before training camp.

Canucks would be silly not to move Podz straight up for Dobson.
Nucks would need to add another asset IMO.

I've been thinking about what the extra asset would have to be all day. A 3rd? Another prospect? A roster player?

Podkolzin + Stetcher (RFA rights) for Dobson?
