How do you figure that? We need right handed right wings. This trade proposal would get rejected by Toronto but Nylander would fit in perfectly. He could play center in a pinch if needed as well.

The only reason Flames would need another right handed shot right wing is if Lindholm is moved to center. However last thing Calgary needs is another undersized winger that doesnt backcheck and shys away from physical play.

Trading for Nylander who wouldn’t be a fit for the flames aside, all your UFA and RFA signings are very low. Those players will command quite a bit more than you have signed them too

That's an absolutely abhorrently awful trade for Ottawa. They don't want a bottom 6er bordering on bust territory and a meh goaltending prospect to take the Lucic contract. That's going to cost a heck of a lot more, whether in the form of much better picks (try 1sts and 2nds), or much better prospects (like start adding Dube, Gawdin, and/or Phillips, etc.). The Sens already have their goaltending depth figured out too so Schneider is of no interest.

Yeah signing declining UFAs to big money long term deals is the better plan.
