The issue with Montour is buffalo fans cannot decide what he is. Some say he is top 2, some say hes a bottom pairing, and a good amount think trading for him was a mistake. All i can say is hes an option for us to consider

That's because Buffalo has Risto, Joki, Miller, and him. Those are all top 4 defenders.

Montour is 'ok'. He's an alright number 4 guy who is relatively useful in a few situations. He cant carry a pairing, he cant run either special team but he's fine with a decent partner.
Hes basically a worse version of Justin Holl at this point with significantly better PR.

leafs fans are delusional in regards to kapanen. i wouldn't drop a 2nd for him. his value is taken to an extreme when in reality he's a generic third liner with some fringe 2nd line capability.

pesce rightfully gets a boost because his contract is so appealing... and he's a top 3 defenseman on any team in the league. jokiharju is mostly just in the boat of "whoa we fleeced chicago", and strome... maybe, but he's also a center in a desirable position and age

If Kapanen did not play the way he did in the second half of the season, arguably when Clifford joined the Leafs, we wouldn't be praising him this hard. In the beginning of the season, many Leaf fans were contemplating on whether we should trade Kappy after his horrible start (the stick toss incident against the Habs). However, to me, I feel like we are starting to get Kadri vibes with him.
