I just did a look at several teams, there are many that could use extra scoring and finding that for less than 4 million isn't going to be easy. There will be interest in Johnsson and it will be a much better return than a 6th. Especially if there is a CBO in the off season, if that happens, a team like Edmonton or New York Islanders or many other teams with more than 1 really bad contract on the books will look at Johnsson as a way to get rid of another bad contract and upgrade a position. The Islanders could move Boychuck and something rather sizeable as far as a pick or prospect for Johnsson and then TO can just buyout Boychuck. Or Andrew Ladd if Islander fans lose their mind about it. The Islanders need space to sign Barzal and their defence and eventually Dobson and others, their long term cap situation is easily the worst in the league and getting rid of one or 3 of their bad contracts is going to be paramount if they want to prevent cap Armageddon.

I know so many anti Leaf folks on CapFriendly think the Leafs are is so much "cap hell". Not true as you indicate, Leafs have players they can trade because they have value and not restrictive NTCs. Other teams don't the have the ability to "shuffle the deck" like the Leafs do

Exactly even with a flat cap, moving anyone off the roster is going to bring back a fair return.

My b dawg, but the point remains:
why do you think OP made some teams with no good CBO option CBO someone, but others (like the leafs) didnt

Bruins dont have a good CBO option, but he went with Moore anyway.

I think with their cap situation and the fact that they have to sign Krug and DeBrusk, the Bruins are more likely to CBO someone than the Leafs, that's why.

I do think Moore's contract is a bit high (and 3 more years) for an often injured/getting older dman and that's why I think he is a potential CBO. Maybe some team will offer a 6th or 7th pick for him, true. I might be wrong, that's why I asked for your opinion cause your a Bruins fan and I'm not.

Gee, after trading a 1st rounder to acquire Skjei. Gotta think Skjei is tradeable...some time will take the contract.

Yes I think Skjei has still some value. He only played 7 games with the Canes, I think they will be more patient with him... We'll see how it goes in the matchup vs the Rangers.

I'd go for Gourde and Wennberg

For Montreal? I think it would make sense, what's the contract you would offer to sign them?

Also for Montreal, would you try Vlasic or Matheson as a left dman ?

Yeee,

Yeah a team that needs to round out their top 6 d would absolutely give up a 6th or 7th, its just a matter of who.

Also check out one of my ACGMs that I believe is titled "Dont need to trade Moore" or something like that. They dont, they can wait till next year, and maybe even get a 4th or 5th out of him when the Market changes again.

Gourde I'd sign to like 2.75M for 1 year, and Wennberg about 2M for 1 year

And maybe I'd try Matheson, but definitely not Vlasic. If I'm going for Matheson I'm going to give him $2.5M for 1 year
