Love the SJ deal. Rather not do the Blues deal. Bozak is old and will likely fall off after the season while Andersson is still young.

My thought is 3C for next season that allows the team to play Chytil in the top 6 and sell high on Strome, on an expiring deal that they can flip at the TDL if they are struggling. 100% not a long term piece

Just remembered i forgot to deal with Tony D before i published. Oops.

He's old but he also was undrafted so hasn't played as long (only eleven NHL seasons to date, three less than than the younger Marc Staal) so his durability shouldn't be much of a concern yet.

There's risk, sure, but it's also only a one year deal so it's not like you're locked in. He's an excellent 3C who can play up in a pinch and has been very good defensively for the Blues, which the Rangers could really benefit from. I also wouldn't hold my breath on Andersson coming back so that's an asset that could have diminishing returns the longer you wait on it.

No way the Blues are retaining for that return. We have zero use for Andersson.

Imo Strome is about equal to what Labanc is worth give or take a bit. So then you're roughly left with Georgiev and a 3rd for the Tampa 1st and that just does not check out.

I think he could be our 3C eventually. ROR, Thomas, him, and Sunny down the middle give us 4 two way centermen. Not to mention Alexandrov was hailed for his two way play when we drafted him, so Andersson definitely fits our mold. As for “need” we always could use more prospects.

There's a reason nobody wants him for cheap. The guy can't skate at the NHL level. I think he's an empty prospect.

LMAO. I just view it as Lias is a young player with upside where we can get a package set up with Kylington or Puljujarvi not a 34 year old C in regression. no thx.
