Best I’d be willing to give for Murray would be a second round pick. Of course assuming that he is not apart of a larger deal.

I'd even say that an agreed upon contract would be required for that 2nd rounder as well. I.E...not just the rights to negotiate.

Crafword is better than Matt Murray. Crow had a .917 save % last year behind a terrible defence, Murray had a .898 and PIT is one of the best teams in the league. And the best of being a hawks fan is I can say Murray's 2 cups don't matter because Crow also has 2 cups. The hakws won a cup with Niemi, whch kinda shows you don't need a superstar goalie to win. Yeah Crow's againg but you can't say we don't have a goalie.

I wonder how fast after a Murray to Chicago deal we would be seeing posts from Chicago fans about how Murray is one of the top 10 best goalies in the league. 3 minutes? 4?

We're good with Crow, hands down a better goalie then Murray has been career wise and last season....899 SV % is pretty bad behind a much better team then Chicago and yet Crow put up .917

    Now that is funny.

Just because the penguins are a good team doesn't mean the defense is good. They spent the whole year with out players.
Dumo, missed like 8-9 weeks, Marino missed time, Letang missed time.

Meanwhile JJ has played like every game and way to many as the 1LD! So has can't play in his own end Schultz.

    So spare me the nonsense.
You can directly correlate Murray's hot start to JJ being a 3rd pairing guy not a 1st pairing guy.

    But hey who's counting right?

Keep your 36 year old goalie. That's all we can manage to say over our laughter of you going another season without a goalie.

LOL. I don't have a crystal ball, but if he plays all the time like he did in his two cups runs...of course. That would be a good trade. If he plays like he did last year...for the entire year...then a 2nd is a WAY too much. He's going to make bank because he's arbitration eligible and won 2 cups, but then he's a UFA. He for all practical reasons is a rental.

Yeah, that's why Blackhawk fan's player evaluations are so easy to deconstruct.... because Pens fans get mad.

60% of the time this logic makes sense all the time.... But what does make sense is....

    Player 1 .917 SV% GAA 2.77 GSAA 9.14 HDGSAA 13.87
    Player 2 .899 SV% GAA 2.87 GSAA ---11.57 HDGSAA 0.8

And Player 2 will likely cost more.

Yeah, and you were wrong, because as a couple people that actually watch Pens games pointed out to you, the Pens D didn't really play D. Hence the don't just look at stats, blah blah blah (my take on my posts)

    no penguins fan is mad.
We simply think your offer is a joke.

Don't worry, the penguins aren't trading Murray this season.
If they move a goalie it's to the expansion draft.

What do you think his contract will be? He's arbitration eligible.

As a comp...Jordan Binnington was a rookie last year and also arbitration eligible. With a whopping 32 games played he got 2 years $4.4M. Matt Murray will likely get 1 year $6-$7M. 2 cups. More wins. More Service time which may not matter to you and me, but will matter to an arbitrator.
