Why would Colorado trade away Girard? he is a legit top 4 dman on a team friendly contract. Also the Avalanche are a contending team and trading away core pieces doesn't make much sense.

He's only 21 and is a already a No.2 Dman, and our top shutdown guy (don't let his size fool you).

Moreover, his $5m x 7 year contract hasn't even started and is already looking like one of the best contracts in the league, meaning that his value is extremely high.

Needless to say that package of garbage doesn't even come close.
