Eichel Blockbuster

Description
Eichel trade: Buffalo gets a cornerstone RHD franchise dman, a winger in Bjork whose shown glimpses of what his potential is, a RW who hasn't thrived but has looked solid in his NHL appearances (top 9). And then a 1st and 3rd round pick. Boston gets their next center to build around once Bergy is gone, but they downgrade at the RHD position. Value wise I think its pretty even. I dont know if its quality enough for Buffalo to accept. I think they sit and think about it if an offer like this came across their table.

Krejci trade: Moved to any team you can move him to. I dont know what his value is but I just took the Tatar TDL deal as a comparison. I made one pick a 3rd due to the fact of Krejci's age and contract. Maybe 2 2nds or a 2nd and a 3rd makes more sense.

John Moore trade: In this scenario John Moore is a complete total cap dump.

I have no idea how close I am to making this blockbuster deal. I want to say its close even value. I took the word from comments in other threads about Bjork being involved in the trade, so I made sure I had him. A 1st round pick is a given in any Eichel scenario. Added in a what is a true hit or miss prospect in Senyshyn and a 3rd round pick (both small sweeteners). And added a significant piece in McAvoy. Which I saw was most likely a starting point in any deal involving a Eichel to Boston trade for BUF fans on here.

    All these trades get rejected.

The 2nds from Montreal are both in the top 40 picks...and Krejci is basically a cap dump in this scenario.

Buffalo has no need for RHD. If they wanted a RHD it would be a defensive one like Carlo.

Boston's gonna have to pay to move Moore.

McAvoy is excellent but still not nearly enough for Buffalo to move Eichal. Even if you removed Risto from the trade they still say no. It will be a late first round pick, and Bjork/ Senyshyn dont have much value. McAvoy and a late first isn't enough to get eichal

A deal involving Eichel will most likely start at Pastrnak.. and Boston isn't willing to do that..

Krejci is a cap dump? He just put up 73pts last season and his last 3 years he has a p/gp that put puts his around a 65pt center. How is that a cap dump?

Nobody is taking that Krejci contract, And that's not even close to getting you Jack Eichel. All trades are easily rejected.

Krejci is too old to build around but hes hardly a cap dump. Hes more like that last piece of the puzzle vet a team might need.

Doesnt this fall in line with quantity not quality? McAvoy is clearly a much more significant piece than all 3 of those players. I thought about putting in Beecher over Senyshyn. Frederic and Senyshyn are both around the same spot value wise.

That Krejci contract really isnt that bad, and as a rental two 2nds or a 2nd and a 3rd is a fair price for what he is as I suggested as what is maybe a better offer in my description.

Yes, but Buffalo are all ready in good position on the right side with Risto, Montour and Miller. If i'm a bruins fans, i'd probably want Something like I mention over McAvoy. I know he's a really good defensmen, but with players allready in the system for BUF i wouldn't go for McAvoy

I really thought I was onto something. I've seen some of the Bruins offers on here and how its been more quantity over quality and thought this would be somewhere closer in the realistic ball park.

Mcavoy is a stud dman. Potential Norris candidate for many years to come. Dahlin-Mcavoy pairing would be the best in the league for a decade + .

    The trade is fair imo.

The difference is McAcoy is a potential top D in the league Vs Eichal who already is a top Centre in the NHL.

    1. That’s not enough to get eichel.
    2. I would be really disappointed if the bruins did this.

He would be a cap dump if Boston got EIchel. There's no way they could afford him. That brings down his trade down value significantly. Just like the Tampa RFAs.

I agree he would have value but not as much value as is posted here. Especially if most teams are in a cap crunch. I don't see him returning more than a 2nd.

I can think probably think of 20 D who are better than McAvoy atm. I can’t think of 20 Centres who are better than Eichal. Not a knock on McAvoy. He’s only 22 years old and he’ll probably get there. I’m just saying Eichal already is at that elite level. And a centre is more valuable

unpopular opinion: If moving McAvoy means getting Eichel, then I wouldn't want the Bruins to do it. Finding another McAvoy is very hard...he has been consistently shutting down first lines since he entered the league

Last 3 years at 5v5 among all d-men with 1,000 minutes

    SA/60 - 7th
    GA/60 - 34th (slightly better than Hedman)
    SCA/60 - 16th (slightly better than Suter & Gio)
    HDCA/60 - 36th (slightly better than Klingberg & Hedman)
    HDGA/60 - 46th (tied w/ Gio)

This is while being his first 3 years in the league (still only 22yr old) and playing with a d-partner that might be one of the slowest skaters in the league and is 40+ years old. McAvoy gets overlooked a bit because he doesn't put up offensive numbers, but he also doesn't see much PP time because of Krug. At 5v5 though, McAvoy over the last 3 years is T-18th in points along with Ellis/Slavin and T-10th in assist with Barrie.

Now I'm not going to debate where he ranks because honestly its subjective. At the end of the day though, over the last 3 seasons McAvoy has been a legit #1 d-man and one of the better d-men in the NHL.

I'm not gonna list him playing next to chara as a negative, dude might not be fast but hes an above average dman
