So 4 first round picks + cap dump.

Sounds like an offer sheet with max compensation to me. Which btw gets declined.

It's way better than an offersheet....we know the quality of the prospect....not a 21 overall pick projet

That’s a no from Columbus. We aren’t trading our 1st this year. Murray is available but just take Lehkonen and the 1sts out.

This is a very solid offer in my opinion if Buffalo decides to go for a rebuild. Suzuki and Cozens would form a pretty nice 1/2 punch in the future, Caufield has top line 30-40 goal potential, Romanov would be a big time lock behind Dahlin at 2LD and probably one of the best second pairing defencmen in the league in a few years. Plus a likely top 10 pick this year. If you got rid of Alzner I think they would come real close to accepting this honestly.

I’m at the same place, either add to get rid of alzner or knock alzner off the trade. Could also add Byron or whatever equals to another capdump and add more prospects and picks, if eichel moved out of buffalo going to signal a rebuild anyway, might as well get as many pick or prospects to get started.

This would bring us contender right now, but decimate our prospect pool
Line up looks good tho, but I rather have Suzuki Caufield and Romanov instead of only Eichel for the future

It's a good offer, but Botterill needs to start updating his resume the second he approves it. He's on thin ice, and while this trade helps the Sabres in 3 years, he won't be the GM

I think that all the proposals on Eichel will no longer be accepted by Botterill. They will simply fire him at the same moment or even earlier when Jack requests a deal, then the new GM will try to persuade Jack to stay and if he doesn’t succeed, he will listen to offers.

Sure this might get it done but it ain’t worth it in my mind. We’re trading away our top 3 prospects and a top 10 pick in a strong draft. That’s making so many holes in our lineup for one player. This team is moving in the right direction we have one of the top prospect pools in all of hockey and it’s going to get better after this draft. Stay on track and within a year or two we’re going to be contenders. Look at what Buffalo has done since they’ve had Eichel they haven’t made the playoffs once, he still needs a team around him and by trading away all our top prospects there isn’t much of a team around him in Montreal.

Fair but weird offer, IMO.

Fair because value is there for Buffalo and Montreal gets their #1 C, finally!

Weird, because I think both teams decline... MTL loses 3 of their 4 Top prospects + a good pick in a strong draft. I know Eichel is still young, but that trade makes the Habs too weak in the future.

Buffalo declines because Romanov and Caufield, even if they're first-grade prospects, are still unproven. And that pick could become a mid-round pick IF the Habs win 1-2 rounds...

But verry interresting offer!
