Bring on the oil

Description
The Oilers need to find a new home for Puljujarvi and a right-side D (to make space for Bouchard). Neither Russell or Being are an upgrade for the Leafs and there is no chance that the Oilers will trade Bear. Kerfoot can play LW or 3rd line C. Johnson was a top 6 NHL LW. Bracco needs a new organization to regain the scoring pace he had in the past (he is a throw-in that costs very little for either the Leafs or the Oilers)
Robertson cannot go to the AHL next year and another year in Peterborough will not develop him further. Since the 2020-21 NHL season isn't likely to start until December, he will miss very little if he leads the USA World Junior team from Dec until mid January and then he joins the Leafs NHL roster which pushes Engvall to the press box unless there are injuries. The proposed structure leaves enough space to bring up Robertson, Sandin, Liljegren or Brooks. If Clifford won't sign for $920,000 we can't afford him and we save the 2nd round pick that would otherwise go to the Kings if he re-signs in Toronto.
Sandin, Liljegren, Brooks and Korshkov will be brought up to the NHL during the year when there are injuries. Until then they will play first line and special teams minutes in the AHL. Engvall needs to prove that the nonproductive period in Feb-March was an anomaly or he will lose his job to Robertson. Either way Engvall needs to prove himself next season or he will be traded.
Bracco and the 2nd round pick are sweeteners in the Trade they don't make or break it from the Leafs perspective. If there is an opportunity elsewhere to get a 2nd or 3rd round pick for Bracco I would take it. There are better players ahead of Bracco on the right side on the Leafs roster so he will never play in their top 6 and he hasn't demonstrated the defensive commitment to play on the third or fourth lines.
This year Dermott must prove that he can play either side to provide flexibility. If not he will be traded before the end of the season.

Find me any sort of analytical proof that Larsson isn't a bottom pair defender making too much money and any evidence that Pulli is anything more than a 1st round bust and then maybe we can talk. The reality is, Johnsson and Kerfoot are both usefull players on good contracts. Larsson legit sucks. He has never been good but does some things that some people think is way more important than it is. Hitting people is cool but it really doesn't do a lot to help a team win. He can't handle the puck and his advanced stats are either bad or at best average.

You resigned Clifford, so you don't have the 2nd round pick that you are sending to Edmonton (which is the best asset in the package going to Edmonton). Also sending Edmonton 3 players 5 ft 10 or less, 1 which looks like an AHL'r for life, and 2 others who are average 3rd line players but both with well over a 3 million cap hit, one of them coming off a serious leg injury. Toronto fans think they are getting ripped off, I am sure Edmonton fans think the same thing, so just nix this trade since neither side is interested.

You must be new here.

For many leafs fans, bracco is only being held back by the superstars that are blocking him.

When you point out all the random nondescript players who have gotten in NHL games ahead of him they get mad and insist he is worth a 3rd round pick and then attack your team.

Its very odd

It is weird isn't it. You could have made a case for him before this season but not now. He definitely still has some value and I don't think its unreasonable that he could at some point make a jump to the bigs but it won't be in TO. He just has too much ahead of him. I think he's a guy that could be moved for a guy who needs a change in scenery. Like Hosang or Bracco and a 3rd for Pulli or something. But beyond that I don't think he'll bring much back. Maybe a 4th. He didn't handle this year well and doesn't seem to be interested in learning some other skills to increase his chances of making the NHL, that certainly doesn't bode well for him.

literally if I was to trade bracco I would trade him for Ho-Sang or that detroit svechnicov guy as both are the same value
