Oh boy. You’re working too hard here.
First off, you just totally forgot Matt grzelcyk.
Second, just sign krug and don’t lose the picks.

I'd take Sergachev over Krug. He's 21 and his contact will age very well. Krug probably goes to Detroit.

K. Remember those three picks given up?

Anyhow, as for krug probably going to Detroit, can you provide any real life thing that has made you think this? Just a hunch? The typical, “oh that guy is from that state, so naturally he’s as good as signed!!!”

Those picks are worth it for the upgrade.

Cause he was saying that it might be his last game in Boston. He hasnt had any contract negotiations. He went to Detroit during quarenteen.

Parise & Suter sign in Minny - from the state.

Maroon - St Louis native, wins Cup.

Tavares - obvious.

Hamonic - wants out of the Island to be closer to Manitoba. Ends up in Calgary. (Hint there Chevy!)

Mike Fisher to Nashville - Carrie Underwood factor

Ryan Miller - has been on the west coast since leaving Buffalo to support is B list actress wife's career

Is that enough of a real life pattern amongst players to suggest it happens?

Keep Krug and the picks. Cap isn't set yet and free agency is in 4 months so it's okay

" He went to Detroit " of course, he's a Michigan native...

At any given time there are 713 roster spots in the NHL. You just used 7 examples, including a guy who’s retired, a guy who’s about to retire, and a guy who’s not from the state that you said hes from

Some of what you said is true. Some of it is made up.

What is pretty easy to figure out is that he really really really really wants to stay in boston.

im just gonna reiterate what people are saying:

Bruins would rather just resign Krug
Krug HAS been in negotiations (so that was made up by you)
Krug HASNT EVER expressed a desire to leave for Detriot, its just that Boston and Detriot are two teams he would take a "home team discount" for

Too much money for Chara
Wagner isnt a 3rd liner, Bjork is a 3rd liner, Studnicka makes the roster.
John Moore will be traded for a 6th or 7th

Overall: Not horrid, but please listen to us, we are just trying to help, because this definitely needs it

He said he hopes it wasnt his last game. Krug has expressed time and time again that he wants to stay in Boston. Sweeney has a tendency for taking awhile to get deals done (Pasta, McAVoy, Carlo), and with the amount of uncertainty going on with the cap, as well as a couple RFAs its no surprise they're waiting a little bit. I understand Krug is from DET, it makes sense, but DET is also the worst team in the league, and Krug doesnt seem like the kind of guy who wants to be in a rebuild, and i could be wrong, but he definitely has expressed an obvious interest in staying a bruin. Also, if he did leave, as a B's fan id rather see us try some of the younger guys (Vaak, Lauzon, Zboril) then give up the picks for Sergachev

Krug has said multiple times that he doesn't want to leave Boston and that he "hopes he has not played his last game in a bruins uniform". He will be back in Boston 95%, and for us to give up a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, for sergechev over krug, doesn't make any sense. Remember we gave up our first this year and in 2018 so it looks like we will be keeping our pick for next year.

Like Sergachav a ton but that money needs to be used elsewhere.

Different not seeing Moore traded off the Bs. Not playing right side either.

Bs just have some real good LHD coming up. Keeping those draft picks.

They do have the best cap position. That being said they could mess it up by overpaying Krug.

You asked for real life examples - I provided them. It just shows that the possibility is there. Historically, layers sign for a variety of reasons. Money, winning, location, organizational stability, role on the team etc.

Do I feel it's likely Krug stays in Boston? Yes. Do I feel it's a fore gone conclusion? No.

OR if they do it your way = it's like "trading" Krug a 1st, 2nd & 3rd for Sergachev and then paying him more than Bergy, Marchand & Pasta and having just about US$17.62 left in CAP space - yowch!

To put it into context wrt to ur Leafs:
Closest Krug/trade comparable (age-aside of course but Rielly can't stay healthy so that squares that circle) = Serg for Rielly, 1st, 2nd, 3rd-picks and then paying M.S. $7M (wait; no cap space, dang)!!

Krug likely gets $6,75M to $7,25M if he stays in Boston. Only need a good term now.

If you want shorter term the AAV goes up. That's how it works for players close to age 30.

He didn't go to detroit, he went to Livonia (where he's from) to be with his family. Also, Yzerman publicly said they have no interest signing any high end free agents. Also, Torey Krug who is 29 years old, what makes you think he signs with Detroit who just had a brutal situation? Why in the world would he be interested going to a team who aren't even close to being contenders? I'm not suggesting that he wants to go to a team that are immediate contenders, but he'd probably want to go to a team that's at least close to becoming contenders.

Detroit makes sense based on hometown team, but the actual team itself doesn't make sense for a 29 year old defenseman who isn't even guaranteed to fit Detroit's system.

I agree, the whole "Krug to Detroit" is blown way out of proportion by a lot of people. There's no signs that Yzerman would even be interested to bring in someone like Krug, a player like him probably wouldn't even fit his long term plans!
