So we go backwards in goal and pick up a nice 3rd liner for a 1st round pick? No thanks. There's much better ways to do this.

Basically a mid to late 1st is required to get a 2nd line winger...

Armia is a great 3rd liner... you give up a mid to late 1st BUT get a 2nd and a conditional 4th back. The value is there

We're trading Armia and a 2nd for a late 1st. Definitely not worth it.

We don’t know where that pick will be. That could be pick 11. If this were a real trade it would be top 10 protected. I’d take my chances that they don’t win the cup

Depends on when the trade is made and where we are in the standings. Trading Armia for 10-15 spots is not worth it.

He’d also be a rental. So u could move up 15 spots for a rental, not bad. I’d take my chances that we move up about 20 spots. Plus he could just walk in fa

There's a lot of circumstances. Maybe he becomes a top 6 forward next season, maybe he becomes a 4th line winger next season. I would rather just get another 2nd round pick for him than moving up 15-20 spots to trade him.

I dont hate the deal for the sharks, but we could do better in FA I think.

Yeah both have better stats and would probably be similar cap hits. I wouldnt be mad at Reimer though I liked his time here, but that was when Jones was bringing us to the cup

If the chance of Armia being a significant piece of the Habs core moving forward is 50/50 at best, you move him for a 1st. He's 27 going on 28, IMO he might have a couple solid seasons but after that will plateau. Is MTL going to be a contender in the next two years? I don't believe so. Worst case you trade down on draft day and regain those two picks.

I'd rather just get another shot as that 1st will likely be a late 1st. The drop off between 25-30 and 55-60 really isn't that much.
