JP isn't worth a 2nd round pick he had 3 seasons to make the Oilers and he couldn't before he quit and went home not even sure he is worth the 4th.

About Weiss I'm not sure but the player has to agree to go on LTIR and if their career is really over its no big deal now if they think they can get on some where else they aren't going tp agree to LTIR.

Yea, I looked at Weiss' career, even though he was injury prone and retired after the buyout, at the time of the buyout he has been cleared to play for the AHL team and thus the Wings option were to buy him out or cruelly hope he re-injuries himself. Or cheat the system and do the Lupul, Hossa or Zetterberg fake LTIR.

In Zetterbergs case his back is all messed up but yeah its milking the system but if it is or they think it will be a big problem they can change it at the next CBA and it's not like only certain teams can use it, it's the same for every team. Player's want bigger and bigger contracts and the owners want a way out when big contracts don't pan out. The biggest problems were solved by setting max length of contracts and the rules on 35+ contracts.

Holland won't trade Puljujarvi for that. He's reportedly had better offers already from Carolina and didn't bite.

NHL GM's and media reports always leak stupidity, like the Sharks offering 13 million for J.T. , Dubas wanted that rumour to spread just to make that 11 million contract seem like a steal.

IF the Canes offered a 1st, it probably was the Leafs which they own, in other words 25th-30th pick, hardly anything to get excited about.

Zett and Syuk should have played out their contracts after asking for a trade to a Cup contender. Both of them need only 1 more good season to finish their NHL career hitting the magic 1000 point club.

Toronto's pick is 18 as of today.

But the report said 2nd + prospect was the offer.

Datsyuk wanted to go home there wasn't a team or amount that could have kept him in North America. Hank's back was bad and the work he'd have to go through all season long just to keep playing got to be too much for him to want to deal with. I think maybe if Datsyuk stayed he would've played one more season but there was no way Datsyuk was going to stay in North America.

Let's be honest here, look at their contracts and that'll tell you why they left, both players signed front loaded contracts with no intention of playing for 1 million towards the end. Same goes for Hossa and Bobby Lou.

Just shows how little you know about Detroit. Datsyuk's last contract was a 35+ contract and he left with 1 season left. Maybe go back and look up 35+ contract because you haven't a clue.

That contract was still front loaded, 10 down to 7 than 5 million. Zyuk was never going to play for the "lowly" 5 million season, just like Zett left when his contract dropped to 3.5 to 1 and 1 million. Same goes for Hossa and Bobby Lou, I'm actually surprise Lou played for the 1.3 million season before walking away. All these contracts are NHL cap fraud.

Ok but the 35+ contract is the leagues answer to older players getting front loaded contracts and the team is still responsible for that cap even if the player retires and they get no relief even if they put the player on LTIR. You obviously have no clue about 35+ contracts. Click the CBA tab at the top of the page then from the submenu click CBA FAQ scroll down to What is a 35-plus contract? and read.

Do you have herniated discs? They're no joke and definitely not fake.
