Tampa isn't trading Cirelli, Unless it's an massive offer sheet that obviously Brisebois can't match. Cirelli is staying.

Considering the term Tuch has I'm guessing the Knights would prefer Montour who they could sign to a longer term deal over Ristolainen, that is if they had any interest in this trade which idk if they would.

Hard no from Vegas

1 Risto for Tuch doesn’t work, no matter how many times people post it

2 McNabb isn’t going anywhere. He is playing top pairing minutes, kills all penalties and has a super team friendly deal.

3 Vegas will not take on money when the cap could be going down.

As a Buffalo fan, i'm not a fan of Risto for Tuch because of the contract Tuch has. I don't wanna pay 4.75 million over the next six years for a player who was on pace for 15 goals, 30 points. Sure, he can and probably will bounce back next year easily into the 50 point guy he was, but Buffalo is in no position right now to take that gamble, and Vegas would be stupid to sell low on him right now.

And for Vegas, Ristolainen to Vegas doesn't make sense for one reason: Vegas feels they solved their right side defense problems with Alec Martinez.

I think we both agree though, im also tired of seeing Ristolainen for Tuch.

Agreed. I’ve been a Sabres fan for 40 years so I know that team just as well, the only reason we see that trade nonstop is he’s from central New York

Never even knew that lol

I had read Vegas needed a RHD still and was making the swap based on that.

Also the cap will not go down, it will be frozen potentially a few years with high escrow but it can't go down barring a full league-wide player cap adjustment. For instance the NHLPA wont accept the cap going down due to its impact on all RFA/UFAs and the NHL itself won't due to both the image of such a move and the ensuing problems many teams would be suddenly in with really no way out.

Fair enough but I do think a majority of the time, that is the reason. People love the “hometown” connection stuff.

People always assume that they need a RHD, because they don’t have natural ones. But Theodore, Martinez, Schmidt and Holden can all play the Right side, and most prefer it. And that doesn’t include Whitecloud and eventually probably Coghlan.

I don’t personally think it goes down, but I do think it will be flat. And even flat VGK won’t add basically 2 million more.
