Easy pass for Buffalo.

Even easier for LAK. Rodrigues won't get a QO from Pitt. He'll be a FA.

DeSmith was as good in the AHL as Bernier was in the NHL. An early 3rd for a back up goalie seems steep...

Based DeSmith value off the Campbell trade, and I consider DeSmith > Campbell because he's younger so he should really be worth more. Rodrigues will likely sign for less than his QO so his rights have some value. Buffalo is one of the harder teams to predict, but Bjugstad is a decent risk for them to take given they need middle 6 center depth

I like this a lot and could see POJ forcing GMJR into a JJ trade similar to how Marino did with Gudbranson.

J saying Green is probably retrieving after this season IMO. Everything esle is solid besides the Detroit trade, but it would probably end up being like w 5th or 6th instead of a 3rd, so it’s really not a big deal

Problem is that no team wants him. See him getting buried if there's no CBO and bought out once it's cheaper

Do you mean retiring? Could see him making one last run for a cup if a team wanted to shelter him. DeSmith value based off of Campbell trade

Sabres dont have disposable cap, they also have plenty of bottom 6 depth

As of now no, but they're bound to move pieces this offseason

Jugs has 1 year left and can slide up to 2C in a pinch. Who do the sabres have at centre besides Eichal? Johansen is more of a winger so no one. Jugs could be a decent stop gap for them

If hes their #2 theyre done for. Id rather have Johansson there again. Hes worth a 5th, but not worth the cap space, he'd be a redundancy. If the Sabres figure out their 2c and have space left, sure, until then, no

Protect ZAR over blueger (and probably McCann) 1000%, it's really not even remotely close

Green isn't an NHL calibre player anymore, that bottom pair is worse than JJ-Schultz... I'm not sure I'd be sold on that as a top pair in the AHL... (Plus Riikola-Ruh would be better anyway... Not good, but they can hold their own at least)

Please tell me you're kidding on ZAR. Green got 20 min a game this year, far too much. Shelter him and he'd be fine

Not at all... Blueger is nice, but he's just not close to as good as ZAR, just see how much that line fell off when ZAR got hurt (dropped over 10% xGF% without ZAR) and replaced by ERod who is not bad himself (another guy I would probably protect over Blueger if he stays on the team) plus ZAR with or without Blueger was simply one of the best defensive forwards in the game this year (no, not Selke level, but top 20-30 certainly)

Why sign Green if you know you're going to have to shelter him, when you can just play Riikola or Ruh and they can at least hold their own, defensively in particular (plus sheltering players just generally doesn't have that big of an affect, 99% of players' opponents range between +/- 0.15 xGF/60 away from the average)

Lets all agree to start this by not resigning Sheary, ok?
I would rather they play the youth than resign him to that absurd contract.

I think any market that is profitable and needs defensive help would take a look at him.
This is a team that moved Maatta for a nice return in Kahun. And we all know Maatta really isn't that good.
They also got a return for Gudbranson.
I think they can move JJ. Mainly because defense is always needed. And teams will have a hard time bringing people in to some areas.
Especially if they need a stop gap.
I'm not going to lie when I say that we shouldn't expect it to happen necessarily in the off season. They may need to wait for the eventual rush of injuries for someone to have a need.
But I think it is possible to move him.
