Not a chance LA trades a top 10 pick to move Quick.... plus they have Peterson so they don’t need another young goalie.

it should have been 2021 not 2020. my mistkae. also la would try and get rid of quick this summer ao Peterson can play. Georgiev would fit there

Ajp's statement still stands regardless if the pick is 2020 or 2021. I expect the Kings to make a jump in the standings, but they should still be around pick #8-13 when the dust settles for the 2021 draft. They aren't trading a lottery first round pick, period.

    I'd rather have pick 35 in 2020 than pick 25 in 2021....

Maybe even 45 in 2020. This draft is ridiculous.

No thanks. That pick is a potential lottery pick, I'd be shocked if we moved it for Strome

    Sutter, 3rd for Lundqvist, 4th, 5th, 7th

Why does Vancouver move a bad contract for a far worse contract AND give up the best pick? Take Vancouver's 3rd out and it is a maybe from Vancouver.
    Sutter for Lundqvist, 4th, 5th, 7th

With how crazy the 2022 draft is at the top I wouldn't like that either. In fact, I wouldn't even pay a first for Strome, period. Maybe Donato and a slight add but the Rangers laugh at that. I'm just not a fan of Strome

As Quick recedes from #1 goalie to #2 goalie, he'll be the perfect backup and mentor for Petersen. We won't be trading him before the end of his contract unless someone makes us an offer we can't refuse.

ok. my thought process was different since they could get a different, younger goalie while getting rid of his contratc which has 3 years left

Nope, he's in the untouchable category since he's really the only young center we have with more than bottom 6 potential

Check the teams' 2019-2020 cap space table on the opening CapFriendly page. The Kings are the third from the bottom, so we have no real cap concerns. Add to that the fact that we have no really bad contracts (the closest we come to that is Jeff Carter's, not Jonathan Quick's) and you'll understand why financial considerations don't enter into any of our decisions the way they do for Tampa or Arizona.

Possibly, but like I said I'm really not a fan of Strome. I feel his production is a large product of Panarin being attached to his hip and the Wild don't have anybody on Panarin's level. He's probably a 50ish point player on our roster and we need more of a 60-70 point center

a 60-70 point center is widely regarded as top 20 in the league. not many are found. when thinking of them you think: backstrom, crosby, malkin, etc.

I'm not a fan either, but for Dontato +2nd/3rd I'd be tempted. I'd also want to see what his contract demands are before making a trade for him. If he's looking to get paid like a 70p center and not a 45p center then it would kill the deal.

Problem is Wild could be in the lottery 2 years in a row and would hate to miss a chance for Shane Wright.

Best offer you will get from Wild for Strome is Pens 2020 pick, but I just don't get the feeling Guerin is all that interested in Strome.

Quick has actually been fantastic of late. He was terrible to start the season, but he has a .923 SV% and 2.27 GAA since January 1. Anyone who they got to replace him probably wouldn't be putting up numbers that good.

They don't need to pay to get rid of him. They're not going to need the cap space for the next 3 years. They'll dangle him in front of Seattle. If they opt for someone else, they'll keep him until his contract expires, then hang his number in the rafters and build him a statue outside of Staples Center.
