As for Delia/Lankinen...I think Ivan Nalimov (from the KHL) will be better. Just one man's opinion. There are ~11 NHL dmen looking for spots. I think Mitchell is 100% ready for NHL ice time. I just don't think they'll give him that role Day 1. The Hawks don't tend to just toss someone into the NHL. Even Kirby Dach played in the AHL initially.

I doubt Nalimov is the backup next season in the NHl

He may not like it, but this is a very young team even for the AHL. Not just young, but also Chalupa's a rookie so young in age and experience. I'd like to see him help these guys learn the NHL game. Especially next to Entwhistle. His role in the NHL is likely similar to Smiths IMO.



I'm not saying you're wrong, but It's $1M difference. Hawks waive him and his cap is roughly $2M vs $1M over 2 years.

With Mitchell down, that means you think Seabs, Maatta, and De Haan are all coming back? I don’t see why Bowman doesn’t keep them all. He didn’t go out to acquire these guys just to trade or buy them out.
