Description
Fifth of a series ending on June 30. Mainly doing these to get a better understanding of teams I’m not a “fan” of per say.

Any trade I make will also show up for the other team when I get to that team.

Don’t get mad at me for the lines for the whole series really since I’ll be using the lines before the stoppage and will factor in injured players where I see fit...though do feel free to make suggestions on the lines.

Calgary flames:
I think mangiapane will get better (about 50 pts) is he is a viable top 6 option by next year. However I went out and got Anderson just in case. Columbus gets a pick and a 4c for a guy who took a major step back.

Can’t really make a lot of moves because of the cap so that’s all

Problem with this lineup is that it doesn't have a true PP quarterback

I think Gaudreau is gone if they don't go deep in the playoffs.

I would most certainly agree, management and fans alike are getting fed up with him. He hasn't been as good as he should be in the regular season, and come playoffs hes absolutely atrocious .

That group has been together too long to have achieved as little as they have. To me Gaudreau is the obvious choice to shake things up. If they want to shake it up, they're trading one of Gaudreau, Monahan or Giordano. You aren't trading your 25 year old 1C, and Gio is the top Dman and the Captain. Gaudreau is the most replaceable, with Tkachuk still getting better, and he'd get a massive return. I think you call up Buffalo who is desperate to impress Eichel. Get Reinhart and the 7th overall pick and maybe more.

If they wanted to try and rebuild/retool they could do it pretty quickly and still keep a good chunk of the team together. You trade Gaudreau, Giordano and Backlund and try to be back in the playoffs in a couple of years.

CBJ decline, they will take a 2nd round pick in return instead.

How many teams do you think would be willing to do that? The guy had 4 pts in 26 games. That’s not even 13 pts in a full season. I know he had just under 50 last year but that’s only 1 season. The others he’s been under 30 points. You are getting a 25-30 point 4c (assuming this was an off year) and a 3rd. I would take it if I’m Columbus. He is only 1 year away from UFA, so they aren’t getting a prove it deal.

Giordano would be qb imo (and he is great in his own right) then you have hanifin and valimaki. Imo that’s not really a problem

I was considering signing Barrie though, could be a good fit

Why does CBJ need another bottom 6 center? they already have enough. Anderson has value around he was just injured. Jarmo isn't just going to sell him low especially for a 4C.

I mean the difference between the picks is 1 round so you can’t really forget that either. I guess it’s just a matter of opinion. I wouldn’t pay a 2nd for Anderson. A solid piece and a 3rd (close to a 2nd but not quite) sure, but not a pick where I could land a better player who could be in the team in just a couple of years

Here’s the thing... Columbus doesn’t have to move Anderson and management has said they want to keep him. The 2nd I’d fair as isn’t an offersheet that Columbus would probably have to consider taking the pick, if someone offersheets him at a 1st and a 3rd they can have Anderson.

So for Columbus anything less then a 2nd round pick in 2021 is declined. Also there’s not a chance Anderson signs a 2x2 contract. 2x1 maybe, if you want 2 years look at 2.5-3 area. If Anderson has a 25+ goal season he’ll get 5 mil as a UFA.
