The Big Offseason Reshuffle

Créé par: MG1986
Équipe: 2020-21 Maple Leafs de Toronto

Description
With all this wait for the NHL and for hockey to return to your tv screens, I hope that Leafs won't be satisfied with this season just because we MIGHT (and it's a mighty big might, because we might not) beat Columbus. The truth, as we all know, is this team has not visited the semi-finals in years. Sure, this team can stay the course, but maybe the course isn't good enough.

This team, or offseason, I've put together has a lot of moving parts to it, and not all these deals are just to relieve cap space. Between basically revamping the Leafs third line (which looks might terrific, I might add) to shoring up the back-end with quality individuals that play more than just a one-way game or just suck a defending.

The end result is this team is still young and has gained some quality assets that I think makes them a tougher team to play against for a full season plus playoffs.

As always, let me know your thoughts. Keep well and stay safe.

That Nylander trade is awful, we don't need Parayko in exchange for the player we'd want him to play with. Got no D for the powerplay

Why tho

Well for a start the team's better overall. Might want to find a way to get Bowers or Kaut in the COL trade tho

They are older and way weaker offensively but not much better offensively. The Nashville, philly, Dallas and Colorado trades make zero sense

Alright. What I'm saying is that the other 4 trades are pointless

You are totally the type of person who would say that if a Leaf fan offered Matthews for pretty much anything.

The element of Leaf fans who want to make a huge change to this club not even 4 completed seasons since they drafted Matthews are the worst fans there are. Just have patience. Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player to ever play the game and it took him 6 or 7 seasons before he won it all. Just give it time. For crying out loud, our best player is 22 years old. The team has more talent than they likely will be able to keep long term. (Meaning the high value secondary guys may get squeezed out like Kapanen, Kerfoot, Johnsson, Etc) However this club has the best player development department in hockey, they will find cheap replacements for those players. Those players also have good contracts and they can be moved for cheaper players as well. The future is bright for this team, no matter what happens if there is a playoff this year. Just cool it on the whole, lets trade Nylander, Rielly, Andersen and Marner because some people don't understand the difference between a star player and a good secondary player. We don't have bad contracts, we have stars who earn big money and secondary guys who make secondary money.
