Problem is that they already have surplus of all those positions which the prospects play for. They're loaded with LHDs close to as good as Hägg, they also have so many C prospects Laberge just is unnecessary, and they have 3 potential future goalies in Högberg, Gustafsson and Daccord. All players offered here are just not needed by them in any manner.
Value might be close (I'd personally settle for 3rd and 4th), but needs doesn't meet.
Yeah, I agree with that. Philly has too many mid level, and maybe home runs, so I was just dealing depth for futures. I am a firm believer in an organization only being able to bring along some much youth and prospects at the same time, and that you lose too many promising guys because there isn't the chance/playing time/coaching to develop too many guys at once.
For example, Philly has Provorov, Sanheim, Myers, Hagg along with injury riddled Morin under 26 yrs old, and a 27 yr old Gostisbehere, which regardless of expansion leaves little space for Zamula, Wylie Wyatt, Cam York, Hogberg etc.... and leaves the defense way too inexperienced and young. Philly added Farabee this year, but didn't have space/time for Ratcliffe, Frost, Strome. Same goes for goalie, Sandstrom, Usti and Hart all arrived at the same time in net, and the organization can not/will not develop too much youth at the same time, so some promising guys just get lost, drop away only due to playing time and opportunity. Its also a 50 contract league, so adding say 9 top 3 round picks in a single year, means a massive contract clear out.
I agree maybe the value or pieces aren't quite right in that though, but with that much draft capitol I think OTT moves some of those picks for guys further along in their development or solid vets to bolt the kids to, without taking on big contracts or scoring huge prospects, but alas, there are better options out there.
