Too much for the Isles to give up. They'll take their chances in a trade to have Seattle select Ladd.

I know its a lot but 3 years at 6M is a lot too
Maybe Boychuk + Dal Colle + Wilde vs Tennyson ?

Would rather Boychuk and Bellows to NJ. Devils have 27 mil in space to take his buyout hit for 2 years or even his full hit. Could have what happened to Orpik happen to JB.

Bellows isn't enough, Bellows + something that is better than a 3rd rd pick

There's also 2 ties for Ladd.
    1. Seattle is very close to his hometown.
    2. Ron Francis

For a team with 27 mil in cap space with no marquee players needed to be re-signed when Boychuk's contract ends, it very well could be enough. NJ isn't in the same cap situation like Carolina was last offseason.

I know, but if you dont want to give Bellows + just keep Boychuck … you dont have a lot of argument when you're the team dumping a bad contract
For now let's say Bellows + 3rd round pick vs Boychuck

I honestly have no problem giving up Bellows. Wahlstrom is more ready than Bellows.

Team has more long-term plans for Holmstrom and Wahlstrom than Bellows. Bellows is also in the least of the protected players for the Islanders in the expansion draft compared to the Devils.

I’d be very interested in the Isles trade. Islanders need the cap space and losing Bellows is a risk I’d be willing to take in order to make that happen. Only problem is that Boychuk is entitled to an 8 team trade list and there’s almost no chance NJ is on that list (unless he lives on LI and wants to stay close to home idk). Seems a little light in terms of assets the Isles are sending back. But if NJ fans like this, then I do too.

Zacha for Roslovic is interesting. Zacha was having the best season of his career offensively - could that be a sign of things to come? Similarly, some thing Roslovic could be more productive in a bigger role, something he’d probably have in NJ. Could be interesting for both sides

agreed. Rather have the prospect you drafted and developed and continue to develop. Although, the I would like to see the jets go after Zacha. Maybe Niku + could get it done idk
