Why post a 20 man roster with no cap? Terrible cap management. Lizotte and Pulock cost 9.6m.(and a RW cost 10.6 for the three players Rather have Kerfoot, Dermot and Kapanen 8m and keep the two first rounders. More RHD obsession .

while I would love to see pulock on the leafs. That contract is just ugh. If we could trade for him money in money out that would work.

I love how you guys think being against the cap is the same as being in cap hell. Having bad contracts you can't move and being against the cap is cap hell. Lou has signed several of those for you guys. Luckily only Marleau and Zaitsev where left for Dubas to clean up.

I’d call it cap he’ll since it would be quite hard to resign Freddy, Dermott, Lehtonen (if he’s good) and Mikheyev after the 2020-21 season. It’s not the absolute worst situation, but it would be tough for any GM to pull off while positively affecting the team

Edit: also I forgot ab Hyman, who definitely has earned a raise

Well when you have loads of talent it does secondary guys get squeezed out. Making sure those guys can be moved easily keeps you out if cap hell. We don't need any Ladd's

Toronto has had that mindset for years and it hasn’t got them past the first round once. You got the hard part out of the way, getting top tier talent, but too much of it greatly depletes depth, and depth is extremely important.

Umm, you are joking right? They have had Matthews for 4 seasons. They have been up against cap for this season. They struggled this year due to massive injuries, a ****ty coach and were coming into their own as they got healthy before the shutdown. They also have the best player development program in the world and use it to make cheap and useful depth out of long shot players. Moore and Marchment were undrafted minor leaguers and brought back assets. Johnsson and Engval were both 7th rounders. They have some high end overagers on AHL contracts and they get more coaching and training than some teams offer their NHL players. That will allow TO to surround their stars with good depth all the time. As long as they don't do what Lou does and sign secondary guys to term and high cap hits into their 30's TO will never be in cap hell. All of their secondary guys can be moved.

Toronto has had that mind set for basically 1 year not years , this literally the first season this team has a cap issue, which is due to easily moved reasonably signed mid roster players, the post is not cap Hell it is tight cap but not Hell
