Naaah. I just couldn't help myself; I had to put him there for symmetric reasons. I really think they'll sign Koivu for a one-year, Marleau/Thornton/Williams kind of deal to help the transition.

I keep hearing from Wild fans that Koivu is done.
Most Wild fans have also said that they are okay with bringing back Galchenyuk for 1 year.

I would rather have Dub for 1 more year (pressbox/backup/practice) then let the kids have their shot than sign Khudobin for 3 (who I think gets more this offseason); and then let the kids have their shot after that.

MN has enough LHS wings, adding another old one for big money doesn't make any sense for them. I get the signing for the fun part of building this roster.



I think Koivu is done after this season ends. He should have been in the pressbox in favor or Rask for most of the 2nd half of the season. Maybe the break will do him good and he'll have a little life left in him for this play-in/playoffs? He just looked like he hit the wall of "I'm too old for this ****."

A cheap ($2m-$3) 1 year deal would be ideal for Chucky and the Wild. It gives him a prove it year without the worry of being taken by Seattle in the expansion draft. He'll get to play center with good wings and should get PP time. He fit into the lineup and played much better than I thought he would.

I don't see there being a big market for him this offseason with a flat cap and his recent history of bleh.

I'd rather spend the money on Khudobin. Most of those Wild constructions have them paying him 1/3 or less of his salary, which I think is unrealistic. He may take a pay cut for a multi-year contract just to avoid going to yet another team in 2021-2022 after only one season plus in Minnesota, but I don't think he'll sign a one-year deal for a massive discount.

Even better. (I misread the contract history page of his chart.) One year and $2.5 million out the door.

Another question is would Khudobin even want to come back to MN? I couldn't say what he thought of his time with the Wild organization.
