Devils don't want Kerfoot, and you have to throw in your 2nd rounder this year if you want Zacha as well.

Good strategy, trolling someone who has the RD you need to improve your team.

oh no! Ive totally ruined the leafs chances at getting an RD now! Lol, seriously? are you trying to pretend that matters even the smallest amount?
Pavel Zacha sucks and pretending the leafs need to add picks to get him is hilarious.

For a team like NJD to move their top Dman and one of their young C's, you're gonna have to throw in some futures IMO. At least a 2nd added, maybe a prospect or 2

Zacha is not worth a 2nd round pick. I would argue, Kerfoot has more value ATM to the Devils. The only thing Zacha has going for him is his age and potential. Kerfoot is able to move between C and LW and has proven ability sliding up and down the top 9. His cap hit is decent, however, a bit overpriced for the Leafs given their top players are hogging all the cap space. Zacha could fit well with the Leafs. Sheltered behind 2 1st line centers and he badly needs a change of scenery. If anything this trade favors NJ. Kap is clearly the best player in the deal. Severson is not too far behind and NJ gets a potential top 4 LD in Dermott. Saying we need to add a 2nd is just greedy.

Also, the poster saying NJ should add a 1st IS trolling lol. Pay him no attention.

For one, NJ has alot young centers. Secondly, Kap, Dermott and Zacha are the same age, 23, and Kerfoot is 25. Not exactly over the hill. Kap and Kerfoot are signed to good deals for the next 2 and 3 years beyond this one, respectively. Dermott is an RFA who shouldn't cost more than 1.5M on a bridge. Severson, 25, is the main target here, obviously and is signed for 3 years beyond this year at a very good cap hit for a RHD, Zacha, 23, for 2 more year at 2,25, and he is approaching bust territory. How is this not a fair trade? 3 proven 25 and under NHL players, 2 of which are constantly improving, for 1 solid RHD and a gamble on a young C. To me this trade benefits both teams.

I didn't say it wasn't a fair trade. I said that trading their best D doesn't make a whole lotta sense if they don't add more futures. the 3 guys you offered a good players and have value, but Severson is the best player and under a team friendly contract. If a team is rebuilding, like NJD, they'll want to get more for their best dman.

I still think Kap is the best player in this deal, but I can see where you're coming from.
